blop blop blop slurp

Mmmmmmmmmm! Puff pastry full of salt, about three bits of steak in a gloopy gravy and a side order of ............ vegetables (you thought I was gonna say "chips" admit it). Lovely - delicious and real peasant fodder.

Love this nostalgic thread! Grin Even though I don't like FB pies, I do like FB steak and kisney puddings. I also remember Vesta curries, they were pretty nice too. Blush

I would absolutely adore a 70s shelf at the supermarket... and a 60s one, and a 50s one and a 40s one... fab idea! Grin

I am all for a bit of guilty pleasures crap food, but Fray Bentos pies really are inedible shite. I couldn't stand them when I was a child and I haven't been near one for over thirty years.

I had some chicken supreme from a tin a couple of weeks ago (it was from M&S so I told myself it was acceptable) but it was very disappointing - nowhere near as nice as I'd remembered. Bland, gloopy sauce and rank chicken. I ate three mouthfuls then gave it to the dogs.

love this book

FellatioNelson · 26/03/2011 09:12

I'm going to have to buy that book. I'm fighting the urge, but at under five quid I'm not sure I'll fight it for long.

I feel the same about corned beef Fallatio, but fray bentos pie is lovely Grin

We have some in the cupboard for when the zombies attack. Have you got FB in your zombie plan???

marriednotdead · 26/03/2011 14:12

Someone raved about these recently, and having not had one since childhood, I gave it a try.

One piece of meat and two smaller pieces of gristle was all I could find. It was disgusting beyond words.

cambridgeferret · 26/03/2011 14:25

Definitely not being unreasonable - the pastry in fray bentos pies is to die for, although the meat's a disappointment.

pingu2209 · 26/03/2011 17:31
