... to warn you all about fake e-mails claiming to be from HMRC?

I got an e-mail this morning claiming to be from HMRC saying I was entitled to a refund of over £500. I was a bit puzzled by this as I've already had a refund from them this year. I was also suspicious as did not come on any headed paper or have any contact details on it and said you had to click a link and fill out an application form to claim the refund, which is not the usual behaviour of a Government Dept I don't think!

I looked on the HMRC website and it confirms it is a hoax. I also see from googling that it's been about a while, but for those who don't know about it already (like me!), don't open the link if you get one of these.

[http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/security/examples.htm] This is the HMRC link which gives examples of the 'claim form' which ask for bank and CC details. Well, it will if I've managed to do my first ever link correctly :o
