I am not making it up.

She has started working pt on one of those dodgy phonelines from home, quite hilarious really but yesterday I asked her what her fake name was and she told me it was the girls name I have chosen. I am currently pg and she is also my birth partner...not that it makes any difference, but still.

She knew this was my name choice so am a bit confused as to why she thinks it appropriate.

I guess usually I wouldn't get wound up but now I feel like it's going to be tainted and it took me and DP a very long time to agree on a name and this one is perfect as it can be both an english and an indian name, therefore pleasing us both.

What do you think I should do? Even if I ask her to change it now it might still feel strange.

If you're bothered about it, ask her to change it. If not, tell her that you'd prefer someone else be your birth partner. Is the name Lolita? If so, you may want to change the name instead. Rather suspect no one will be mistaking baby X with sex line worker X for quite some time to come anyway...

It's not that I am worried that anybody would confuse the two, it just makes me uneasy. It's my first child aswell so I am being very precious

Even if she didn't really do it to upset you and couldn't think of anything else I would still point out it has upset you.

Did you actually ask her why she'd picked that name? Maybe bring up that you're not happy and please can she choose another name, then lend her a baby names book. And a quick tip - next time you're pg, don't tell anyone your name choices. If they push, just tell them you haven't decided yet.

Is the name an exotic sounding name? I would tell her you are not happy with her using it and help her think of an alternative for the sex line.

If it's a normal name you should keep it and tell her off.

If however it is a bit on the lapdancer side (Roxy? Candy? Chrystal? ) perhaps she's saved your daughter from a worse fate and you should thank her

Depends on the name I think...if it's Trixie or something then maybe she's sending you a subtle hint....if it's Jane or Mary or something normal then YANBU.
