to want to make a small batch of cake mixture

Just so I can eat it raw?

no idea where that craving came from! (am not pregnant!)

Is that weird? I mean, I lick the spoon when baking, but to do it just to eat the mixture?

Do it!

bubblewrapped · 19/01/2011 17:14

buy the cake mix icecream.. that is really nice!

TragicallyHip · 19/01/2011 17:14

I just made some lemon cup cakes and had a good lick of the bowl Grin

MoonGirl1981 · 19/01/2011 17:17

I do that!

Or I'll deliberately leave a bit when making a cake.

No idea why anyone bothers cooking it. Far nicer raw.

BaronessOrczy · 19/01/2011 17:17

I'm thinking vanilla bun mixture...

Or possibly uncooked flapjack!

aPixieInMyCaramelLatte · 19/01/2011 17:18

I used to do that as a snack after school Blush

BaronessOrczy · 19/01/2011 17:21

Am very pleased it's not just me!

I am supposed to be on a diet. I reckon that's what the problem is Smile

In Australia you can buy frozen tubes of cookie dough. (To be fair you probably can somewhere here too, I just haven't come across them).

Really handy for moments like this!

Uncoooked flapjack!!!

I am just egging you on because I am on WW :)

lololizzy · 19/01/2011 17:33

oooh!! nearly did this myself the other day! it's the best

YummyorSlummy · 19/01/2011 17:41

I knew that was what the op would say just from seeing the thread title! Do it, slightly jealous now and wishing I was having cake mix instead of chilli for dinner!

MoonGirl1981 · 19/01/2011 17:43

Angel Delight is quite similar and easy to make.

That help anyone?

BaronessOrczy · 19/01/2011 17:49

I'm going to make a full batch of vanilla cupcake mixture

half to cook, half to eat

yes, you can get tubes of ready to bke cookie dough - it's usually with the biutter, cream & ready made pastry in the supermarket

BaronessOrczy · 19/01/2011 18:48

Now feel a bit nauseous!

not sure cookie dough is on diet plan Wink

may start own cookie and chocolate based diet plan...

stLucia · 19/01/2011 18:52

Haagendazs cookie dough icecream is far superior to just cake mix :o

belleofbelfastcity · 19/01/2011 19:51

I have been known to make a pavlova just so I can lick the whisk beaters and spatula... I even forgot about the raw eggs and did it when I was 8mo pregnant - woops!

UniS · 19/01/2011 19:53

my flapjack tastes better uncooked than cooked. maybe I shouldn;t bother cooking it at all.

tallulah · 19/01/2011 20:00

I did that once. And felt really really sick :)

backwardpossom · 19/01/2011 20:13

I assume I'm not the only one who only puts 3/4 of the cake mixture into the tin for baking and eats the rest? Grin

I remember when I was little, my mum gave me a recipe for a fruit loaf and it came out about half the size it did when she made it and she couldn't work out why...

BaronessOrczy · 19/01/2011 20:43

Haha backwardpossum did she ever figure out why?

Have now had about 5 cups of tea and feel 'normal' again. And hungry.

I do as you and several others do and leave some for whilst the cake is in the oven.

Have never actually just made it to eat raw before though

Belle, raw pavlova. Really?!

Watch yourself, the only thing that makes my DD hurl her guts up is if she eats to much cake mixture!

It is delicious but I think it's the fact that there generally isn't very much of it so you really relish the scrapings. A whole bowl of it would (I imagine) cause serious tummy issues!!

Not that I give a shit when I'm 'tasting' the mixture every 5 seconds!

taffetacat · 19/01/2011 20:51

Just made up the mix of the Hummingbird Bakery Nutty Apple Loaf. Amongst the normal stuff, it also contains chunks of dark choc and strawberry jam. The mix has an unnerving pink hue to it. I licked the spatula.

Oh. My. God. Divine.

It has to stay refrigerated overnight before baking tomorrow. I think I may have to do a Nigella and sneak down in my dressing gown later.....Grin

SlightlyJaded · 19/01/2011 21:14

Good old vanilla Victoria sponge cake mix. Food of the gods.

backwardpossom · 19/01/2011 21:24

No, I don't think she did, baroness hehe!
