It shows a man slapping a woman, just to warn you.

YABU. It's not nice but if it's THE most heartbreaking thing you've seen then you have lived a very sheltered life.

stoppinchingthedummy · 19/01/2011 14:34

seriously? the most heartbreaking? It isnt nice but its not heartbreaking is it?!

prettyfly1 · 19/01/2011 14:35

It isnt the most heartbreaking but if definitely is heartbreaking. Imagine what the rest of that womans life will be like.

rasta · 19/01/2011 14:35

It's pretty horrid Sad

ChickensFlyingUnderTheRadar · 19/01/2011 14:36

It's pretty horrific, and does suggest that her life isn't going to be very pleasant. It made my heart sink rather than break, iyswim.

prettyfly1 · 19/01/2011 14:36

mmm - only meant for that to come up once

ChippingInSmellyCheeseFreak · 19/01/2011 14:36

It's horrible, however, I do agree with Morticia if that's the worst thing you have ever seen then you have lived a sheltered life. You only need to go to Ikea in Croydon if you want your world view expanded.

deemented · 19/01/2011 14:36

It's extremely unpleasent, but really... The most heartbreaking?

Agree with Morticia - You must have led a sheltered life.

Vallhala · 19/01/2011 14:40

Agred that you must have led a very sheltered life.

PatPending · 19/01/2011 14:41

Heartbreaking was watching the clip on BBC news about the Australian boy who insisted rescuers save his little brother first during the flooding only for the older boy to die - and then watch the interview with the rescuer who was visibly devastated that he had been unable to save the older boy too.

Disturbing is how I'd describe your clip.

spikeycow · 19/01/2011 14:45

I haven't led a sheltered life and it is heartbreaking IMO, not the clip itself but if he can slap her for fuck all in front of her family then what is he doing behind closed doors. Fucking pipsqueak I'd have him for breakfast

Doesn't the woman behind him give him a clout at the end of the clip?

TakeItOnTheChins · 19/01/2011 14:47

I think it's worse that he shoved cake into her mouth - a dreadful abuse of her human rights.

bubbleOseven · 19/01/2011 14:50

ok maybe not the most heartbreaking but as as another poster said, it made my heart sink,to think what the rest of her life is going to be like.

And other mumsnetters have seen worse things? worse than that? really?

I'm talking about from a domestic abuse point of view, obviously other things are worse.

OP posts:
bubbleOseven · 19/01/2011 14:51

rubyrubyruby I very much doubt she can just walk away

OP posts:
spikeycow · 19/01/2011 14:52

Yeah same here from a DA point of view. I also don't think the silly music is appropriate at all

jeanvaljean · 19/01/2011 14:56

So he feeds her some cake and then he slaps her? Did she bite his finger or something?

It wasn't even a very good slap. I've seen worse outside Yates's Wine Lodge on a friday night (when I've been walking past en route to a classier establishment, you understand)

Still, he needs a wife like me. I'd have ploughed him down like a shark with knees

FabbyChic · 19/01/2011 15:06

The she is an adult she can walk away crap really bakes my noodles.

Have you ever been in an abusive/violent relationship? Do you know how hard it is? How scared that woman would be to up and leave, she believes she is worthless that no one will want her other than him. She is brainwashed into believing she is useless that without him she is nothing.

She cannot just walk away, if only it was that easy.

Your comment is an insult to all those abused women out there.
