Having trouble with the chafing shorts so moving on to spitting and rubbing groin practice.

Hullygully · 09/02/2011 08:57

Go Jins!!

OP posts:
Hullygully · 09/02/2011 08:57

Mini, what ARE you doing?

OP posts:
minimammoth · 09/02/2011 09:05

Well done Jins. Hully, surely you recognise the arduous training program that potential professional footballers have to go through. How's the supermodel training going?

Hullygully · 09/02/2011 09:10

Ah.

I'm doing terribly well on the drinking front and er, that's it really.

OP posts:
Jins · 09/02/2011 09:42

OMG - informal interview tonight!!!!!

Wish me luck

Hullygully · 09/02/2011 09:48

Hurray!

Well done!

So, are we thinking sexy nurse look, or Hattie Jacqes?

OP posts:
BeribbonedGibbon · 09/02/2011 10:03

I bloody love Hattie

Jins · 09/02/2011 10:09

Probably Hattie Jacques. I'm going to major on life experience being relevant rather than actual experience or qualifications so sexy nurse is probably the wrong sort of experience to show.

I'm a bit nervous.

Hullygully · 09/02/2011 10:13

Of course you are. If you weren't, you'd be a bit dense.

Is it general nursing?

OP posts:
Jins · 09/02/2011 10:19

This is an access to nursing course which I need to do because I haven't done any formal study in the last 5 years. It'll also give me relevant work experience. I've got all the necessary points and even in the right subjects but they were a while ago now. Also have a degree and a masters so I've covered the academic side pretty well. Hopefully then I can go on to apply for the degree in nursing which makes me a proper nurse :)

I'm torn between general adult nursing or learning disability nursing at the moment but I don't have to decide on that until I apply for the real deal

Hullygully · 09/02/2011 10:21

Is it a one yr access and then 3 yr degree?

OP posts:
Jins · 09/02/2011 10:24

1 yr access if I do it full time. I'm going to have to do it part time though because the timetable doesn't fit with my work days and I don't want to rock the boat there. Redundancies are likely and I need my income for as long as possible. 3 year degree but you get funding and work at the same time.

I know it's mad of me. I'll be well over 50 if when I qualify

Hullygully · 09/02/2011 10:26

It's not mad at all. Who cares how old you'll be? Better to do something you really want to than spend another twenty years wishing you had.

OP posts:
pagwatch · 09/02/2011 10:42

50 is very young and pert in the scheme of things.

Go Jins

BeribbonedGibbon · 09/02/2011 11:17

Good for you Jins! Grin

That is my plan too. No way when I go back to work am I doing what I did before. I hope to finally train as a therapist which is what I have always wanted to do.

So how is everyone? and the DC's?

Smile
minimammoth · 09/02/2011 11:51

We're all on Team Jins. Totally agree, do what makes your heart sing. Personally I am well Gibby, and going to have a wee holiday next week. A break from the intense training as a professional footaballer. Work hard, play hard. Goes back to keepy uppy and groin rubbing/spitting practice. What is that wooden thingy draped with fine cloth, I wonder.

Jins · 09/02/2011 12:00

Thanks all. I've felt more excited over the last few days since I've actually done something than I have for the last 5 years. Says something doesn't it.

Apart from midlife crisis things are well with me. My hearing is returning, the DCs are challenging, aggressive and rude so perfectly normal teenagers and DH is unusually chipper.

Will report in before my 'interview' I need a haircut and a quick scan of my wardrobe for 'she's probably a health worker' clothes if there is such a thing. I am usually either corporate suited or slob

Hullygully · 09/02/2011 12:22

Go with that Siouxsie Sioux look

OP posts:
BeribbonedGibbon · 09/02/2011 12:47

Holiday sounds lovely mini Envy

Have a great time Smile

You'll do ace Jins!

I am one of those people who use lots of emoticons and exclamation marks aren't I.

I have to be careful. It's a fine line between that and lol hun'ing everywhere.

BeribbonedGibbon · 09/02/2011 12:49

or (((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))

Hullygully · 09/02/2011 12:49

I think they're nice, Gib. I once said I never used them and there's that mad obstinate part that now won't let me. And they'd be really handy.

OP posts:
BeribbonedGibbon · 09/02/2011 12:53

backtrack! backtrack!

BeribbonedGibbon · 09/02/2011 12:53

Umami · 09/02/2011 13:03
