The thread about birthday parties has got me thinking and feeling sad.
DS1 is to turn 13 this year and in our family it has always been a big thing.

So as he has not got any friends aibu to have a party and want to invite as many MN'etters as possible to bring their DC along so he is not alone.

I also want to do something just me and him.

I am finding hard to find something because he doesn't seem to have any interests atm aside from Dr Who and Harry potter - which have always been the same.

He has maybe 2 friends in his secondary school the rest of the DC he socialises with are family.

So there you ahve it, a small party with those he actually likes.

FWIW, my DD will be 10 in May. She is already fretting about her birthday party and has decided that she will invite both classes from her year so around 34 children.
I asked her who she actually like of those 34. She told me the names of four which I think is pretty sad. Still, we'll be leaving soon.
