AIBU to expect DH to...

...leave the bloody room if he knows he's about to drop the smelliest fart known to man, or to at least excuse himself when he has done one.

This is half in jest and half serious, as I am getting extremely tired of him just letting rip constantly and leaving evil smells hanging about. He even does it in front of guests.

So, wise women of MN AIBU, or should I buy a gas mask?

yanbu!

AgentZigzag · 17/01/2011 20:49

I don't have a sense of smell Smile

DH can fart all he likes cos he always comes off worse when I return the favour Grin

mamas12 · 17/01/2011 20:50

Or a blow torch!

randomama · 17/01/2011 20:50

YANBU. An excuse me is just basic manners. it's right that he feels he can 'express himself' so freely in your company (can't understand couples who can't shit/piss/fart/vomit in front of one another) but yes an excuse me ought to be part of the deal

My DD has an evil backside. I have taught her to leave the room for the good of our health :o

Hopefully, her partner will never need to post his in years to come!

some men seem to think we think there is a direct relationship between the offensiveness of their farts and the size of their willies. Sadly they don't seem to realise the only relationship between the two is that the more they fart the less we will be interested in their willies.

In front of you is only funny about once; in front of guest never.

YANBU

Mine always says excuse me - after we've both finished laughing like loonies. Grin

thederkinsdame · 17/01/2011 20:53

To be honest randomama there are some things I'd rather he kept to himself. I feel it's a basic courtesy not to think that it's OK to gas me every day just because I married him.

Does he try to blame the dog?? Does he pull the duvet over your and his head and really think it is funny??? Does he fart in the car and then lock the windows...

He does it to annoy me - no jury would convict

thederkinsdame · 17/01/2011 20:55

Things is my DH isnt like that, he doesn't think smelly farts are funny, it's not a case of 'oh, here's one' or 'pull my finger' type blokeish behaviour. It's more tlike he doesn't give a shit anymore. Angry

makes note of locking car windows trick

thederkinsdame · 17/01/2011 20:57

I think I might start a 'fart box' where he has to pay in £1 every time he stinks the room out and donate it to charity each month!

I often fart and blame DD I'm dreading the day she can tell DP it was me and not her!

YANBU btw, DS has a deadly bottom and will often leave the room to 'drop one' as he puts it.
