To ask have any of you had a boob job

And do they feel/look natural . Ihave been saving up for quite sometime now as I have always felt extremely self concious about my boobs especially now I have
had a baby. The only thing worrying me is I do not want rock hard obviously fake ones, is this possible does anyone have any experiance they could share with me ?

I have two friends who have had breast surgery. One had an enlargement which looked very natural, it was put in through her armpit. The other had reconstructive surgery following a mastectomy. I felt it, it feels real.
I never felt enlarged ones though. It didn't seem right.

I have had it done twice. They look very natural, and although on the firm side, they feel fairly natural. They were quite firm prior to being done at all anyway. Quite a few of my friends have had a feel and reckon they feel natural. Most people think I am joking if I tell them I have had them done and they don't know.

Some surgeons are kenner on achieving a natural look and feel than others, so you should 'shop around' (ask your GP for a recommendation or look on the BAAPS website) and have at least 3 consultations which you should expect to pay for. I would avoid the big cosmetic surgery companies, although they can give good results, they can be quite hard sell. Ask the surgeon lots of questions about his/her work and explain the look you want to achieve and ask them if this is possible. Any reputable surgeon will be honest if they think you are being unrealistic.

I had a feel of a friends ehanced boobs once, they looked fabulous, but I think were a bit to pert to be natural for all but the very lucky few. They were also a bit hard, but this was a few years ago and I expect they are better now.

I think as long as you go for a size that is suitable for your boobs, you'll be ok. depending on how much skin you have etc, What size are you now and what size are you after if you don't mind me asking? If you went from say an AA cup to a D/E cup, then yes they would look rock hard and ridiculous as you would not have enough breast tissue for them! Just make sure you pick a good surgeon who listens to you, have read a few disturbing stories of girls who have gone for surgery and the surgeon put in bigger implants during the operation because "he thought they'd look better"!!

Also I'm sure you know but breast implants need replacing every so many years, I'm not sure how often.

I went from an A cup to a G/GG cup (over two surgeries, 10 years apart) and mine look natural because I had quite a full upper pole to start with and also a good surgeon.

Modern implants no longer need replacing unless there is a problem with them.

I think there is also the issue of "under" or "over" the muscle which can impact hardness and/or natural look/shape.

You can get round or tear drop too these days.

There's a good forum called "LookYourBest.com" or something which has a wealth of information on all sorts of cosmetic enhancements, and has regular appearances from some eminent BAAPS registered consultants who will answer your questions too. You can talk to a whole lot of people who have had it done and glean a great deal of information before you get to the "consultation" stage, if you get that far.

My close friend had a boob job and went up alot so you could tell being her friend, but I think she also went for the fake look, they are still hard and had them done now a few years.
But then I no other people who have had them and you would never be able to tell.You would have to go through alll of this with the surgeon I think.I think now they even let you take test ones home

Oh no hens! Do you know why? Was it weight gain? Because they always say doctors say this can't happen (ie breasts don't just keep growing throughout your life) - but I know it does...

I had mine done nearly 2 years ago now and they look and feel very natural. So much so that when had a routine breast check as part of a bupa well woman programme the dr said she wldn't have known if she hadn't noticed my scars (which are very faint now anyway).

melezka - I think it was only partially weight gain because they didn't grow back with ds1 whom I didn't breastfeed, but grew after breastfeeding ds2

Breastfeeding must boost the breast tissue or something. They say that they're supposed to shrink after stopping, but they just stayed

I long to be in a C-Cup bra again. I'm DD at the moment which doesn't suit my frame because I'm not that big.

I went up 7 - count them - 7 cup sizes when pregnant and then breastfeeding and they never went down again. :(
