to think I shouldn't have to do all the running around?

Or am I? H and I split nearly 2 years ago, he hardly ever sees the children, but when he does he can see no problem with expecting me to do all the ferrying of the children in my car. I love my children but it would be so nice to have even one day to myself or is that too much to expect?

No - YANBU - def not.

I think you should speak to him, and work out some sort of arrangement - even if he picks them up one time, and you do the next time. But def not fair.

Maybe next time - arrange it all - and just say - you need to collect them - i have dentist/doctors etc. to break him in gently, adn stop it turning into a proper "you're a twat" argument!

YANBU. How rude...make him take responsibility. Stand your ground.

Newgolddream · 16/01/2011 23:14

No its not unreasonable, but maybe he expects you to do all the running around - because you do it. I think its time to set a few ground rules with him now though.

FabbyChic · 16/01/2011 23:16

Does he have a vehicle to transport the children in? If not then understand why he asks you rather than make them walk/get on buses.

mpuddleduck · 16/01/2011 23:37

He does have a vehicle, but we have 3 children and he bought himself a 2 seater sports car (because he doesn't see the children very often)when he moved out.

I reiterate - Twat! Make him hire a car when he sees the children - or use a taxi. Grrr....

kickassangel · 17/01/2011 00:25

perhaps you could each be on the other's insurance, and you could swap cars for the day?

it's his responsibility to care for them when he's erm... caring for them. you'd be doing him a favour, letting him use your car instead of having to buy himself another one.

oh, and such a shame you'd be in his little sports car for the day!
