I don't live in a total shit hole - DP always does it. When I was at university I lived with boys and they cleaned in exchange for me cooking/making them tea/generally looking after them - but I really don't like getting my hands dirty and chemically.
I have swept before once or twice but today I actually cleaned for hours, it felt so liberating and the house is sparkling, I feel like I've really achieved something. Yay!
