I thinking some breastfeeding mums are attention seeking weirdos who seen to need constant breasty attention and pats on the back for getting their baps out ??

Woohooo for you, you're getting your baps out in public and feeding your child, same as I did for two years, Without any hassle from anybody.Public or otherwise. The main difference being the whole world didn't have to keep being told about it.

I can just imagine them, sat as predominantly as possible, glaring over their babies head if somebody dares to even look in their direction...

And don't even get me STARTED on the competitive extended breastfeeders.....

NO ONE FUCKING CARES !

OK ?

Here here trinitymother! That link is the almest thing I've ever read and backs up what cleo was saying more than you!

BitOfFun · 14/01/2011 19:05

I agree that people on here bang on about it actually. But I am notoriously unmaternal and insensitive.

LeQueen- it's 'discreet', you know. Unless you are talking about neatly feeding from one side and not the other, I suppose.

nowonthepill · 14/01/2011 19:05

almest=lamest! sorry

ecobatty · 14/01/2011 19:06

Sod the breastfeeding, I'm impressed by the sitting as predominantly as possible!

[wonders what makes it impossible for them to sit all the time they feed]

saintknickerless · 14/01/2011 19:12

YABU and YANBU I'm sure people like this exist just like people who want to tell everyone how their kids favourite food is celery and how clever they are etc - nothing to do with bfing just some people like the sound of their own voice.

Cleofartra · 14/01/2011 19:15

"Tell that to the babies taken into hospital with dehydration because 'mummy' stubbornly soldiers on, bit of hunger won't harm them will it ??"

That's a really, really low comment.

Sad

Re: all the 'stomach turning' comments about mothers exposing too much - how do these images strike you?

I've lived in developing countries where women dress far more modestly than they do here. You really don't get hysteria about women getting their tits out to feed their babies.

Grandmar · 14/01/2011 19:23

It makes me sick when people moan about women breastfeeding. The most natural and loving sight you can see.
Lads mags, certain news papers and advertising use 'breasts' to sell and it seems less people moan about that, than if they see women feeding in public.
Those two lumps on your chest are there for a reason and when you do use them (for the intention for which they are intended) it is an emotional time. Grrrrrrh

newmum001 · 14/01/2011 19:28

If there was a "like" option i would be using it. Obviously not all BF women are like this but some of the threads on here about it really do get my back up. If it's just natural etc then why go on anout it so much. Going to the toilet is natural but there aren't a million threads about it. BF cafes?? Give me a break!!

BitOfFun · 14/01/2011 19:29

I don't think the OP or anyone else is moaning about breastfeeding. I think they are moaning about sanctimonious posts about it.

missmehalia · 14/01/2011 19:30

I think the OP is probably getting exactly what they want...

Three Billy Goats Gruff, anyone?!

NO ONE FUCKING CARES!

Er, yes they do.

Otherwise there wouldn't be bun-fights about it.

Thank you.

Grandmar · 14/01/2011 19:41

We go to the toilet/we have periods/we go shopping. Emotional times are when we - Get married, get our first house, get divorced etc.
The most emotional time is when we give birth.
To bring a new life into the world is the most amazing experience and seems like a miracle.
It also seems like a miracle when your body sustains that life producing milk which it has never done before.
Now I wish I could lactate gin and tonic!

ApocalypseCheeseToastie · 14/01/2011 19:41

Breastfeeding cafes ???

I wonder what would happen if someone went to a breastfeeding cafe and formula fed ??

MooMooFarm · 14/01/2011 19:46

Well I love a good bum fight as much as anyone, so I would like to add - I am actually 'proud' to have bf'd all my children until they were over a year old. People may say 'what is there to be proud of' but I am, partly because so many people don't do it, and for me it was hard work at times but I persevered anyway. So there.

But 'for the other side' - as much as I am pro-bf'ing, I struggle to understand why some bf'ing mothers seem to want to use doing it as an excuse to display their boobs to everyone. I always used to be discreet, not because I am santimonious and think boobs are 'rude'. But more because I did'nt want some old perv to get a free flash of my luvvlies!

Grandmar · 14/01/2011 19:47

Or your brain found it difficult to function!

saintknickerless · 14/01/2011 19:47

ACT - I did once by mistake. A friend invited me and didn't tell me it was a bf cafe. Nothing was said but I felt slightly out of place. I also had to fill in a form to evaluate how the volunteers had helped me with bf!

ApocalypseCheeseToastie · 14/01/2011 19:48

Breasts would be far more useful if they produced gordons spicy rum imo Wink

lovemy2babies · 14/01/2011 19:49

I am shocked at the amount of ignorant & bitchy posts on here about women talking about breastfeeding and breastfeeding in public by regular posters.

This for me is mn at it's worse.

Shame on you for contributing to any negative images of breastfeeding.

Angry Sad

gaelicsheep · 14/01/2011 19:50

I can't speak for anyone else, but I've breastfed for nearly 7 months any time, any where, and I've never had my baps out in front of anyone. It's really not rocket science.

Binfullofmaggotsonthe45 · 14/01/2011 19:51

Am confused, would the latte actually be made of breast milk in the bf cafe?

Or is there no coffee, just breasts so suckle on?

So if a lorry driver popped in with a thirst, one of the customers would acquiesce?

ApocalypseCheeseToastie · 14/01/2011 19:53

No, lovemy2babies mumsnet at it's worst is all the special needs bashing threads which crop up on a regular basis and the shocking ignorance which goes with it
