to stop my children watching 3D TV?

Whilst watching a 3D film at the cinema only lasts for a couple of hours, if you have a 3D TV your kids could spend longer with the glasses on. Radio 4's "You and Yours" mentioned this lunchtime that the 3D glasses may damage the eyes of younger children whose eyes are still developing. What do you think?

Do you mean at home or a the cinema?

I don't think there's a big problem for occasional use at the cinema. But I'd definitely draw the line at 3D glasses at home.

Aside from the health implications, they're incredibly annoying.

At home, cinema is only a couple of hours a week or so.

How do they damage them?

YANBU, we showed our kids the 3d tv, they won't go to the cinema, but I haven't let them use it.

I still can't watch a whole film in 3d it really, really hurts my eyes and gives me flashing shutter lights for a bit.

It's a lot harder on your eyes than at the pictures. It's not a relaxing viewing experience.

We have a 3d tv.

Obviously my 17week old and 21month old are too young to watch it but even when they are old enough they will be limited to one 3d film a month.

Even as adults, my partner and me find our eye's go a bit squiffy after watching a 3d film.
