...until I've got all the biscuit that is not attached to jam, then shove all the jammy bit in my mouth?

My husband says I am. He thinks I should eat biscuits 'properly'.

YANBU. This is also the only way to eat Jaffa Cakes or bourbon creams.

gapbear · 13/01/2011 20:57

Oh yes, Jaffa cakes. Eat round the edge, peel the smashing orangey bit off, eat sponge, consume smashing orangey bit.

Tis etiquette Grin

Jaffa cakes must be eaten round the outside then have the chocolate peeled off and then the jaffa bit peeled off and then the sponge eaten and only then must you eat the jaffa bit.

bloomingnora · 13/01/2011 20:58

Ha! Xposted. I thought you might think me weird...

Beamur · 13/01/2011 20:59

Tis the best way - you then get a nice jammy hit all in one go. I prefer the ones with cream in the middle. Mmmm.
This is the proper way to eat them. Your husband is mistaken.

gapbear · 13/01/2011 21:00

Hurrah! I love telling husband he is unreasonable Grin

bloomingnora, you eat like a true lady.

Sad

NOOOOOOOOOO!
I am actually quite gutted about that.

Confused

Doesn't everyone do that?

gapbear · 13/01/2011 21:37

Not my husband. He takes bites out of it, regardless of where he starts or where the jammy bit is.
Appalling.

I hope someone will continue to make proper Jammy Dodgers when Burtons is gone. Aldi are all right, but not quite the same.

Biscuit yumyum

floweryblue · 13/01/2011 21:42

Surely the proper way is to unwedge the top biscuit, eat that and then do the around the outside nibble? That's how I used to do it anyway!

Antalya1 · 13/01/2011 21:51

Actually the correct etiquette for eating Jammy Dodgers is:

Eat the top biscuit bit, leaving the middle jammy bit

Eat all the bottom biscuit

Finally eat the middle jammy bit

As anyone knows this is the 'classy way' to eat JD's

Clearly your DH is uncouth, if I was you I would be posting this in the Relationships forum.....tis very worrying Wink

PersonalClown · 13/01/2011 21:54

I thought it was genetically in built to know how to et Jammy Dodgers??

Mind you, DP can't understand why I have to peel off the top layer of a Jammy Wagon Wheel then eat the rest.

meadowlarks · 13/01/2011 21:56

Look under the photo of the jammie dodger - the photographer is called Sarah Lee! It's fate, I tell you.

In answer to your question, this is the only dignified way to eat multi-layer biscuits.

LittleMissHissyFit · 13/01/2011 21:57

Biscuit for you all!

flippinggorgeous · 13/01/2011 22:55

I love it when my DDs call them Dammy Jodgers.
