I hate it! If I hear the fricking song "Sunnysands" ever again I'm going to shoot the TV. What is it even about?

For some unfathomable reason DD seems to love it.

OP posts:
woolymindy · 13/01/2011 17:33

fucking hate it too - smug family in smuggysands....... bleurgh

pjmama · 13/01/2011 17:33

And that Jason Mason could do with a haircut IMO. Harrumpfh!

Chil1234 · 13/01/2011 17:34

Some reference to lack of sheltered accommodation for the elderly?.... Confused

AlwaysbeOpralFruitstome · 13/01/2011 17:35

Urgh same here. DS's love it but it makes me want to do unspeakably violent things to children and pensioners alike!

faverolles · 13/01/2011 17:37

I'd rather watch this back to back for two weeks solid than watch Sarah-Jane Honeywell in action.
Her voice makes my brain shrink.

ashamedandconfused · 13/01/2011 17:37

you miseries, its fun, innocent kiddies FUN

TattyDevine · 13/01/2011 17:39

Its like a Joules catalogue ejaculated over Southwold.

hollyoaks · 13/01/2011 17:41

I want to stamp on grandpa when he shrinks Angry but I bet he wants to do some damage to that annoying kid.

aPixieInMyCaramelLatte · 13/01/2011 17:42

This is exactly why cbeebies doesn't go on until about.....

Now actually.

Love a bit of Chuggington.

ArsMamatoria · 13/01/2011 17:43

Grandpa in my pocket. Sounds like a Viz cartoon to me. As does Harry and his Bucketful of Dinosaurs.

AlwaysbeOpralFruitstome · 13/01/2011 17:45

Grin @ Tatty!

TheSmallPrint · 13/01/2011 17:49

I read this post as 'Grandpa is bastardising my pocket money' hence me clicking on it! No idea why, my brain must be in a very strange place. Grin

The3Bears · 13/01/2011 17:51

We were talking about this yesterday has to be the most annoying thing ever Grin

LoopyLoopsIsNoLongerFestive · 13/01/2011 17:52

And what would your advice have been TheSmallPrint?

OP posts:
OmniumAndGatherum · 13/01/2011 17:56

Love it, as does DD. But PMSL at thread title. Grin

practicallyimperfect · 13/01/2011 18:01

Worst thing on tv. It isn't fun its tweed and annoying.

badcoverversion · 13/01/2011 18:09

Yeah Grandpa is a grade-a dick and you would have thought that as his age, he would have acquired an assortment of cardigans!

He needs to take a permanent lie down and let the curly haired posho sort his own shit out for once.

bloomingnora · 13/01/2011 18:25

Tattydevine just made me do a little wee.

lochnessmumster · 13/01/2011 18:49

YANBU. I always think the title is a bit creepy.

bluebump · 13/01/2011 18:53

My DS has suddenly decided he likes this so we have to watch it. I noticed Mr Maker in it the other day too as a character.

Riddo · 13/01/2011 18:57

Fortunately mindee is scared of it so I don't have to watch.

Very weird imo

llareggub · 13/01/2011 19:00

Grandpa in my Pocket is very much loved in our house. My DS even wants to be Jason Mason.

aStarWithHerOwnWays · 13/01/2011 19:01

ArsMamatoria there is in fact a Viz cartoon take-off of this show; it's basically the same, except that Grandpa is actually suffering from dementia and just thinks he's going really small.

This thread has made me glad all over again that we don't have freeview. It also gives me a faintly relevant excuse to complain about Mummy sodding Pig and her practically-perfect-in-every-way smug bastard fuckfacedness. Poor Daddy Pig, mocked and bullied at every turn, by his wife, his daughter, his PIL and the obnoxious Miss Rabbit.

TheMonster · 13/01/2011 19:03

I like Grandpa in my Pocket. At least it doesn't have Justin bloody Fletcher in it.

Adair · 13/01/2011 19:08

Yes! Dh thought my rant about it today was due to late pregnancy grumpiness but NO.

I find it faintly misogynistic and generally unpleasant tbh.

Mum is derided for her 'hobbies', the big sister is portrayed as a bit wet, the art club teacher was horrible today, Grandpa has childhood ishoos with Great Aunt Loretta for no real reason - I think she's quite cool (and so poisons Jason Mason against her). Actually Grandpa has issues with anybody Jason mason tries to befriend (cousins, school friends etc) and has to 'teach them a lesson'. Gah. Think Grandpa needs to learn not to need to be the centre of attention tbh.

Ohhhh, that rant felt good. And don't anyone tell me I might be overthinking it... Wink Confused
