it getting to the point i dread coming home from work, as all she does is cry and pull tantrums.

however when any body else has her, they don't hear her and she play nice.

i give her loads of attention, play together with toys, playdough, paint out the garden and alot more

what am i doing wrong

IMVHO that's the mark that you've got it spot on.

If they're a pain for you and angels in front of other people, you've achieved as a parent Smile

borderslass · 12/01/2011 20:59

It's normal. Smile

I'm in agreement with the posters above. At least you know she will behave beautifully when she is with others. You should be pleased. Do you think you wind her up? Just a thought.

AgentZigzag · 12/01/2011 21:30

Isn't that what parents do deste? Wind up their children?

Predominantly by not doing what the children tell them to do.

It's in their nature to try it on and tell their parents what they want instead of asking, my DD gets very wound up when I remind her that I'm the parent and not her.

Imnotaslimjim · 12/01/2011 21:36

My DD is exactly the same. no-one but OH and SIL believe me that she is a nightmare sometimes. Apparently she is a little darling! They've both seen her true side though and know she is the queen of tantrums. Apparently its perfectly normal, but doesn't it make you feel that you are doing something wrong?

KatieG73 · 12/01/2011 21:40

I could have written your post - my mum, dad and aunts all think DD is the angel of all angels and at parents night at school the head went out of her way to seek us out to tell us how proud we should be and that DD is a credit to the school 'the kindest most considerate child...'
Mmmmm not so much for us -she's like a she devil sometimes and depsite the fact she's only I could swear she has hormonal mood swings.

Glad it's not just me :)

AgentZigzag · 12/01/2011 21:53

Yes, that's the problem with eveyone seeing them like that, when you have a problem you really need to talk about with someone, they don't take you seriously and kind of laugh it off!

Can be annoying.
