Pesto/Garlic Tomatoes on toast with streaky bacon and scrambled eggs?

Carefully wanders in to her first AIBU. First of all I know I'm very fortunate to have a DH who not only cooks but shops and cleans, and I really enjoy our Tuesdays studying together now we are slightly challenged on the job front, but....

AIBU to think that chopped tomatoes in pesto on garlic rubbed bread are just a very wierd accompaniment to streaky bacon and scrambled eggs for lunch? When I moved my bacon and eggs to a different plate and had it as two (very delicious, but separate, courses) DH has gone all huffy and called me a 'fussy bugger'. I must stress that I have thanked him for making me food, and saying it was all lovely, but now I feel guilty.

Tomatoes and toast go with bacon and eggs. as it's like a cooked breakfast/brunch, but I have to admit that garlic & pesto tomatoes are not really breakfast/brunch food, IMO, so I would find it an odd combo and would probably do what you did!

I think if it was just the pesto/garlic tomatoes and the bacon that would be fine, but adding scrambled eggs does seem a bit odd!

And I'm pretty adventurous with food, FWIW.

pesto and bacon sounds like a weird combo

It sounds very odd to me - as two separate courses ie: bruschetta followed by bacon and scrambled eggs it sounds OK(ish) - but I am very fussy and don't really like other people cooking for me .

I have a hobby, I'm sitting here on MN doing my maths for my OU course, watching DH do something that involves a lot of words for his MA. But seriously, bread, tomato, bacon and egg vvv good, plus pesto and garlic just a bit odd?
