To be freaked out by someone quoting posts a year old to vilify my children?

Someone on another forum is quoting bits of posts I made over a year ago and vilifying myself, my children and their school. I am freaked out - I feel as if I am being stalked and also damaged in public by it though arguably both are anonymous.
However this person is quoting details which make the family easily identifiable.
I have pmed them but they are obviously on a roll.

can you report them on the other forum

JamieLeeCurtis · 09/01/2011 22:00

doesn't seem like a good idea to start this thread.

Goblinchild · 09/01/2011 22:00

If the forum is moderated, put in a complaint.
But did you put information on the net that identifies your family and school that easily? Can the admin on the site delete your old posts?

mumbar · 09/01/2011 22:00

Shock second usuals advice.

mutznutz · 09/01/2011 22:01

Why put info on the internet if you don't want it re-posted?

Not saying it's right btw...just that most forums do have search engines where you can quite easily bring up old posts.

Northernlurker · 09/01/2011 22:01

Eh? YOu are being stalked - so deal with it on that forum under their rules. Why bring it over here?

ChickensAreFlyingUnderTheRadar · 09/01/2011 22:02

I'd report in the place where it was happening. It does sound a little odd.

yanbu to be freaked out by it. but..

the internet is not anonomous - if you post identifyable stuff online there's a chance someone will identify you, iyswim.

And the thing is, you don't know who reads what. I was recently recognised in a shop - I was at the till and asked the assistant if we'd got the world cup (was day of the vote), and when he said he didn't know I said I would check twitter then, to which the woman next to me said "oh, I'm on twitter as well, and Mumsnet - you're on mumsnet aren't you." Shock Shock

Now, I've posted quite a lot of info that makes me fairly identifyable, but have always been careful not to post derogatory thing about people I know who could recognise, still Shock though.

Memoo · 09/01/2011 22:05

How did she know you wannabe?

bibbitybobbityhat · 09/01/2011 22:06

Post "Why are you stalking me you freak?" on the thread in question. Come on.

CaptainNancy · 09/01/2011 22:07

Shock wannabe! Please tell me you live in a village of 3 people....?

BitOfFun · 09/01/2011 22:12

Wannabe would probably be recognisable in RL Grin

victoriascrumptious · 09/01/2011 22:13

Always talk shite on the internet. That's what I do. Nothing I have ever written is identifiable.

You can't believe a single word I say.

OP. You have been a bit dim tbh but it will all blow over. It will.

usualsuspect · 09/01/2011 22:13

Yes ask her wtf shes doing on the forum in question
