to wonder why so many people find it impossible to admit weakness

So many people in this world won't admit they don't know something, can't do something, or won't admit they were wrong. So we get crappy information/advice from employees too scared to say they're not sure.And we see people argue black is white unti l they look completely ridiculous. X factor auditions are one example but there are many many others. We see people out there in wintry weather completely unable to admit to themselves that they can't drive in snow and ice. And increasingly here on Mumsnet, many posters do not have the good grace to admit a misunderstanding and apologise.

If I don't know the answer to something I say so and try to find out. If I get something wrong I try to admit it, learn from it and apologise as necessary. Am I really that unusual?

No I am the same, i find it easy to hold my hands up and say 'i don't know' or say 'i was wrong' it takes practice though to overcome pride.

i don't hae weaknesses. only challenges to be overcome.

Many people are underloved (if there is such a word) and insecure. They -like children - still need someone to love them unconditionally and protect them. Quiet often they feel the need to do it for themselves

For some showing weakness allows them open to attack.
So some convince themselves try are always right.
