i still see Bears so YABU

gibbberish · 08/01/2011 01:01

I never used it.

The bear has had its two seconds of fame and needs to retire gracefully.

giyadas · 08/01/2011 01:07

but what does it mean? or is it just supposed to be cute?

TriggersBroom · 08/01/2011 01:11

do you have time to read 28 pages giyadas?

OP posts:
usualsuspect · 08/01/2011 01:12

I hate that bear

giyadas · 08/01/2011 01:15

I read the thread when it was all happening but I still don't understand what it's meant to signify in other threads IYSWIM.

gibbberish · 08/01/2011 01:21

It was meant to be used to diffuse heated threads or as a response to a particularly mad post/poster. But as its actual use was never made clear everyone uses it in their own waym

As a result there will be threads for the next 200 years asking what it is to be used for.

It needs to go.

giyadas · 08/01/2011 01:27

ah, I see. Seemed a bit cutesy and not really in line with the MN Way.

Thingumy · 08/01/2011 01:37

I hate the bear and biscuit in equal measures.

I do love a bit of Hmm action though.

TriggersBroom · 08/01/2011 01:43

Yes I love the Hmm - I find myself yearning for it on other websites. It's probably my most used emoticon, although I do enjoy a cheeky Wink.

monkeyslut · 08/01/2011 02:58

I have never used the bear.

I have biscuitted a few times - probably under 10.

Wish we had a eye roll emoticon though Sad

Tee2072 · 08/01/2011 05:52

It's totally pointless and makes me angry as people have been asking for various new emoticons for months, if not years, and that one shows up within days of a completely stupid and sort of mean and not particularly funny situation.

Biscuit at least has meaning.

YunoYurbubson · 08/01/2011 05:56

Yanbu. I dislike it and all that it stands for.

giraffesCantDirtyDance · 08/01/2011 06:55

yanbu

fayc84 · 08/01/2011 07:00

I read the thread recently and enjoyed it. Have a wee smile to myself any time I see pombears in the shop now. But don't see the point in the emoticon either.

TriggersBroom · 08/01/2011 13:11

Well it was kind of MNHQ to provide the bear at the time, I suppose.

OP posts:
Eglu · 08/01/2011 13:13

[pombear]

Eglu · 08/01/2011 13:13
Bear
MistyMooBags · 08/01/2011 13:16

Biscuit irritates me more than the Bear...

ChippyMinton · 08/01/2011 13:18

The Bear leaves me Confused.

lazydog · 09/01/2011 20:58

Can't see the need but it doesn't bother me.

And I alone in the fact that I went for months thinking Biscuit was a pretty flower emoticon? Grin

MrsSchadenfreude · 09/01/2011 21:01

I love the Bear

DanceInTheDark · 09/01/2011 21:04

I hate the bear so YANBU!

JoBettany · 09/01/2011 21:06

YANBU

ilythia · 09/01/2011 21:13

I'm with tee and others.

All the emoticons we have been asking for and this is what we get, after one thread.

Hmm MNHQ, {hmm]
