My friend thinks i am mad!

DH and i are actively trying for DC number 3 and i came off the Mirena back in Oct. My periods are not back yet so every month i have been testing but coming up negative and its making feel anxious.

I know periods are a pain, but i just want things to be normal so i dont have to buy the £12 test all the time!

£12!!

You need to go to a discount shop, I think poundland do them (or some other such equivalent), I'm sure SIL has mentioned that before.

i never bought pregnancy kits, it was confirmed at the Dr both times (first time due to being a pleasent surprise after trying for some time, second time because it prompted some health issues), so i didn't know they cost that much these days. Shock

You can buy 20 tests for a couple of quid on ebay/amazon.

Or poundland do two for surprisingly, £1.

i never thought of Ebay, always gone to Boots to get Clearblue

i know its too soon to start worrying but my other 2 were easy so assumed it would be quick.

YANBU....I had this after coming off the DEPO jag early last year....I've just had my first period and I whooped for joy when it arrived and lasted a whole 5 days like it used to Grin

ShowOfHands · 08/01/2011 01:33

With Clearblue you're just paying for the packaging.

Here. These are fine. And cheap.

I'm not sure what kind of contraception Mirena is - it may well be one where there is a long delay before periods return. If however it is just the pill I suggest you may want to pop to your doctor to get your hormone levels checked.

Good luck with ttc!

Longtalljosie · 08/01/2011 06:59

A lot of my friends (inc me) had a three month gap between stopping breastfeeding and periods returning - and when I came off the pill it took three months for my cycle to return to its "natural" cycle of 26 days. Which is my unscientific way of saying I'm sure your periods will be back soon - unless you go straight for the BFP! Smile

ShowOfHands · 08/01/2011 10:10

Stagirl, a Mirena is a coil that releases hormones. It often stops periods altogether while in situ and can take a while for the body's natural hormones to take over from it once it's removed.

Sorry stangirl, I'm going back to bed.
