to want to smack the scum who came into my house while I was feeding my baby

Hi

I cannot go into details however while I was breastfeeding my baby last night - two pieces of lower life scum came into my house and stole items. Luckily my husband was asleep downstairs and may have stopped them.

We are ok but it has shaken me up and I no longer feel safe in my own home

Bastards.

TmiEdward · 07/01/2011 19:40

Oh, that is horrid.
Glad you personally are all ok.

RobF · 07/01/2011 19:41

Did they break in or did you leave a door unlocked?

Have you had the police out?

Smack away! It doesn't happen in Texas for a reason. They can shoot intruders!

That would be one way of reducing crime.

theagedparent · 07/01/2011 19:42

That's awful, poor you. They are indeed scum.

ilovesprouts · 07/01/2011 19:44

scum bags

unfitmother · 07/01/2011 19:45

I'm sorry to hear that.

Vallhala · 07/01/2011 19:45

How awful. Thank goodness that you and your family are okay though.

I'd feel as you do, I think I can understand.

dizzeelizzee · 07/01/2011 19:46

Oh how terrifying!!!! Glad you are all ok x

reinitindear · 07/01/2011 19:51

How awful for you.Last year when I was pregnant and alone with dd1 11 some fuckers delinquents threw a brick at my front window at 3 in the morning it really shook me up and felt very unsafe. It transpired it was meant for next door as their teenage son had refused them a lift home the police thought this would make it better somehow.Called the police at 3am they came round at 5pm the next day.Hope you start to feel more secure soon and they catch the bastards who did this.

TheHouseofMirth · 07/01/2011 19:58

flickor that's horrible. And you must be feeling especially vulnerable with a young baby.

Alouiseg so the 240,233 burglaries in Texas (above the national average for USA) in 2009 were imaginary, were they?

taintedsnow · 07/01/2011 20:01

Oh no! :(

What a horrible thing to go through. Can you get some extra bolts etc for the doors and windows? Will put up an extra line of defence.

flickor · 07/01/2011 20:05

Thank you for your kind comments. Worst of it was I had to take baby for her first jabs today.

Police have been excellent - for legal reasons cannot give out too many details only that these sub humans are luckily very very stupid and one has been caught. They are "apprentice" criminals, and nothing of any real sentimental value was taken but has created a lot of hassle and worry. We are ok and baby is fine but its going to take time for me to relax again

TheHouseofMirth · 07/01/2011 20:08

Hope you manage to sleep OK tonight (baby permitting)

pickgo · 07/01/2011 20:11

Get the police to come and assess your home security and implement their recommendations +++. At least then you'll be able to focus on all the obstacles you've put in the way of any future scumbags.

Try not to worry but focus on what you can now do to prevent it ever happening again.

Caboodle · 07/01/2011 21:06

How horrible, at least you are all OK. Hope you can relax tonight.

TheMonster · 07/01/2011 21:11

It's been in our local paper that there have been a lot of thefts from houses recently when people have left door and windows unlocked. Chancers will give it a go. It's nasty.
