Our boiler packed up last week (fixed again and I am disproportioantely delighted), and as a result, we have had no heating or hot water.
So - we have been relying on little electric heaters, and having showers at our next door neighbour's house. We are friends with her next doors - I go to a gym class with her once a week, and we often have a glass of wine and a gossip round each other's houses. and supply one another with run out things, eg calpol and washing powder, (and wine 
).
Anyway, I was telling a friend of mine about how the boiler has been fixed and mentioned the showers -round -neighbour's situation, and she was horrified! Said she would never ask to have a shower at someone else's house, and would say "no" if someone asked her, and think it was really weird.
Is it weird? I thought it was a perfectly normal favour to ask in the circs!
