Just wondering really...
I have been wanting to get a flu jab this year having had really nasty 'proper' flu a few years back. Late november I had a cold so didn't get it, thinking I would get it done when I was better.
It's now early Jan and I still haven't shifted the cold - temp has gone but still snotty/sniffly and coughing. DH has had jab in early Nov and has had the same cold I have had for similar 6 weeks now, 2 DSs, both of whom also still have remnants of cold.
We used to have to have flu jabs at school, one year I had a bad cold and they still made me have it (they couldn't be bothered to delay it like they usually did if someone was ill) and I ended up with a really bad bug (albeit I don't think it was actually flu, just a very nasty cold).
I guess the 'don't have a flu jab with a cold' message has stuck because I hadn't even rung up to make an appointment assuming I would be turned down. But as DH pointed out, that was ahem 25 years ago and I should ring up and check if it is still the same these days.
Am I being stupid to go and get a flu jab this afternoon or will it be OK with just the remnants of a cold? Way things are going I could be still waiting for it for another couple of months. The local Boots have appointments for today and then not for another week...
if you've made it this far - thanks,
didn't realise it was going to be quite so long!
