In being surprised that apparently 98% of UK women under 25 have no pubic hair at all?

Is that true?

A friend who is a practice nurse says she presumes it's just a fashion. None of her women under 25 who come for smear tests have any pubic hair.. all shaved, shorn, waxed to nada.

Obviously that's fine but it seems a little universal to me. Aren't there any rebels out there?
Is it just for the boys they do it?

Does the image not come from porn originally?

would love to be enlightened!
Clearly I'm over 25 Grin

In Japan, AFAIK, pubic hair is still considered erotic - for a long time the censors were extremely strict about any images of pubic hair and genitalia, and a lot of porn is still pixellated - but you now regularly get actresses/celebs who want to boost their ratings doing a 'hair nude' photoshoot, with a daring glimpse of their pubes... I would agree that the trend for hairlessness and generally more plastic-looking perfect Barbie-doll bodies is quite an American thing.

Mimblesson · 07/01/2011 18:52

A pity there's a hangup about 'spiders legs'. It's incredibly erotic...

cantspel · 07/01/2011 21:51

ancient egyptians used to pluck all their body hair and shave their heads then put on a wig made with human hair.

So I dont think there is anything new about shaving your pubes

wukter · 07/01/2011 21:57

Nobody has said that cantspel.

Haven't wound anybody up!

Nathan22 · 21/06/2015 22:55

I think most guys prefer oral sex with a hairless vagina.... certainly all my friends who have expressed a preference do ... I think it looks nicer too but that's my personal opinion and each to their own ...

FarFromAnyRoad · 21/06/2015 23:02

Oh fuck off ffs and why have you bumped a 4 year old thread?

Beth2511 · 21/06/2015 23:04

I do like to get rid of it and it be more appealing to hubby but with a 7 month old time is in short supply and its hardly essential!

I was going to have a good old tidy up before baby arrived but she had other ideas... legs were more embarassing as had been struggling to shave them late pregnancy and was saving all my energy to do them right before the planned section date.. again 10 days early meant that never happened and I had an amazing jungle.

LosingTheWillToSkate · 21/06/2015 23:09

I can't speak for anyone else, and am over 25 now.

But I've been shaving and later waxing mine since I was about 13. Nothing to do with porn, I just always preferred the feel of my skin smooth.

AnyFucker · 21/06/2015 23:11

zombie thread

PippaPug · 21/06/2015 23:12

ZOMBIE THREAD!

Bair · 21/06/2015 23:26

Did you wank over read the whole thread to comment on pubic hair on women before you bumped it 4 years since the last post, Nathan?

Alice1983 · 21/06/2015 23:41

Please leave poor Nathan alone. He was merely giving his view. It was an interesting read anyway. I'm over 25 and meet the criteria same as Losing , just easier to be honest

but it is a Zombie Thread innit Grin

BIWI · 21/06/2015 23:42

Poor Nathan? Hmm

He has a history.

Have reported to MNHQ.

Bair · 21/06/2015 23:53

Okay, poor Nathan, with his interests in which Mumsnetters are naked at home / have pubes. Hmm

HoneyDragon · 22/06/2015 00:04

Mine are certainly greyer now than they were when this thread started.

LucyBabs · 22/06/2015 00:07

HoneyDragon Grin

PushingThru · 22/06/2015 00:14

I vary it. Full bush, trimmed & then sometimes I start shaving and keep going. Whipping it all off isn't necessarily about looking 'attractive'; sex, especially oral, can feel much better hair free.

PushingThru · 22/06/2015 00:16

I wouldn't react well to someone telling me what to do with my body hair though.

VirginiaWoofs · 22/06/2015 02:11

I'm 22. I have a full bush Grin and long term boyfriend

I live with four other (single) 22 year olds. They have pubic hair most of the time - unless they're dating or going out with the potential for a ONS.

I know this because we chat a lot (moan) about it

DecaffCoffeeAndRollupsPlease · 23/06/2015 00:58

bwah, I've just spent hours reading... A ZOMBIE THREAD.

All that time wasted formulating my response too :(

TheFormidableMrsC · 23/06/2015 01:08

I am 45 and I get rid of mine. Every 3 weeks. Smile

TheFormidableMrsC · 23/06/2015 01:10

Wishes she'd seen the zombie thread posts and now everybody KNOWS Hmm

CatthiefKeith · 23/06/2015 02:17
