To use dd's ridiculously expensive shampoo and conditioner

All Christmas hols my dd (home from Uni) has accused me of pinching her expensive shampoo and conditioner (never did, used my cheapo rubbish).

DD has gone back to Uni today (driven by that well known taxi firm, mums taxi). She has left her expensive shampoo and conditioner in the bathroom.

So AIBU to use the expensive stuff (as I have already been tried and found guilty of using the stuff). Will blame the dog/cat/guinea pig/goldfish/husband of using it.

I would too, what's hers is mine and what's mine is my own, I have the same rule with DH.

Did she pay for her taxi or the cost of B&B while she was at home?

Definitely use it with unashamed glee! If she moans, point out it is only because of your fantastic parenting that she is able to be at university at all, and also that she uses your; heating/electricity/food/telephone/car/laundry/taxi service/time while she is home, so it is more than fair that she should gift you the shampoo.

Tell her you gave her the gift of life, kids love that one!

I would use them both and when they are finished I would then fill them both up with cheap stuff and see if she notices when she next comes home!

HERBIE- don't despair, when ds1 discovered girls he started buying really nice shampoo etc. Some of it went missing of course, now he's left home I have to treat myself once in a while
