I am extremely egocentric, and quite frankly am disappointed that MN didn't screech to a halt in mourning

JaneS · 31/12/2010 23:55
Grin

Ego-stroking, ta very much 2shoes!

I namechanged for about a month and no-one noticed ... then changed back and no-one noticed ... but I felt very glad to see my old name up and about!

Right back at you

InterruptingCow · 01/01/2011 00:16

I namechanged too and no-one has missed my old persona or admired my new name. I was thinking it's nice to be anonymous but then realised it's rather pointless if no-one knew the old me!

ChickensAreFlyingUnderTheRadar · 01/01/2011 00:17

I am admiring your name right now InterruptingCow. It is a name to be admired.

JaneS · 01/01/2011 00:18

Well, I like your name InterruptingCow - go on, tell us who you were? Grin

InterruptingCow · 01/01/2011 00:20

Why thank you! I was MummyDoIt.

JaneS · 01/01/2011 00:30

Ooh, I remember you!

For some reason, I always associate you with GetDownYouWillFall.

I think that's why I'd be terrified of trying to spot namechangers - I'd spend hours explaining the vagaries of my mind and its random associations.

StealthPolarBear · 01/01/2011 00:47

I am important enough to have had a PM notifying me of your namechange

StealthPolarBear · 01/01/2011 00:48

oh LRD I do that too (not that specific one, but associate posters)

sometimes it's similar names@

thisisyesterday and thesecondcoming
madamez and mamazon

sometimes it's their 'topic'

sometimes it's when they joined MN (or when I first noticed them)

sometimes it's just my mind making weird links

JaneS · 01/01/2011 00:53

Yes, there was a really good thread about random name associations a few months ago - I remember LittleWhiteWolf saying she noticed me because we are both small coloured animals, and now I can't see your name without thinking 'ooh, another animal!'.

(It's very sad really, isn't it? Blush Grin)

I'm dyslexic and for ages I was mixing up SolidGoldBrass and StewieGriffinsMum because their acronyms look so similar ... it's not good!

coccyx · 01/01/2011 08:53

Guess you are not as well regarded as you thought/hoped

StealthPolarBear · 01/01/2011 08:55

??

YunoYurbubson · 01/01/2011 09:02

The interrupting cow is a great name. It is my 4yo daughter's favourite joke. In fact it is one of hundreds... She can do the interrupting cow, the interrupting sheep, the interrupting chicken, the interrupting goose, the interrupting duck...you get the idea. She can go on for HOURS.

Then my 2yo tries to join in:
Knock knock mummy?
Who's there?
Ummm..... The interrupting... Ummm.... Interrupting... Umm... Carpet?
The interrupting carpet who?
Umm.... Laugh mummy.

happysunshinedays · 01/01/2011 09:45

Grin loving that Yono.
So, MN thicko here. How do you change your name? I'm sick of mine.

InterruptingCow · 01/01/2011 12:00

Yuno, that's why I namechanged. It's my favourite joke too! It was a toss up between InterruptingCow and InterruptingSheep. I guess I could alternate!

southeastastra · 01/01/2011 12:08
