to have judged myself today?

LittleDing wolfed down a hamburger, medium fries and drank a fruit shoot in MacDonalds today.

We go out about once a month for tea and he chooses where we go.

AIBU to have judged myself for the relish with which he consumed his chosen feast?

yes, I'm outraged

BelleDameSansMerci · 31/12/2010 21:42

Yes, you are clearly the worst kind of parent! Or you could view it as the joy of the forbidden fruit thus proving that you are not habitual frequenters of McDonalds...

snownutty · 31/12/2010 21:43

I hope you enjoyed yours as much as he did Smile

LOL. dont worry about it. Children are genetically engineered to adore crap food. THe crappier the better.

We took DD (9 months) to TGI McFunsters tonight for dinner where upon she scoffed about 15 chips off my plate and grabbed a decent handful of my chocolate brownie to boot. I managed to fight her off my baby back ribs. Honestly it was like the child had never been fed.

I wondered if i would be browsing MN tomorrow and see a thread about some neglectful mother allowing her tiny baby to consume such unhealthy food.

YANBU, McDonald's as a once a month treat is not going to kill him! And he really enjoyed it, so it's served it's purpose as a treat.

hottiemamma · 31/12/2010 22:07

What's with the beating yourself up? Truly really have you nothing else to worry about? I suppose you should be congratulated if you honestly DO have time to churn it up over this.

DingDongMerrilyAsCheese · 31/12/2010 22:24

errrr ok, I was sort of joking....

Just astonished as his hoovering of the food when he turns his nose up at my organic turnip and mackarel fricasse..Hmm

I got horrifically judged by BIL yesterday..

DSis and BIL took us to a PlayHell yesterday, we'd not eaten since breakfast. DS runs around like a loon for a couple of hours, it was 5pm and he said he was hungry... and Mummy Could we do a MacD on the way home? (we passed one en route)

Ok says I knowing that there was nothing in the freezer that I could whip up.

Oh says BIL, I would never let DD (16m) eat that stuff, not even if she asked me...

PFB? Much... Okay then...

So I said, good idea, I'll cook him a burger at home instead...

And stopped off for a happy meal anyway..

I know I was probably JUST like that.... In fact I am pretty sure I was.... Blush

LittleMissHootsMon · 31/12/2010 23:16

Oh in DS defence, he did ask for WATER for the drink [beam] [oddball kid]

HappyCapybara · 01/01/2011 00:32

YABU not to have given him large fries, medium just don't cut it!
