To be retrospectively freaked out by exP's pubic hair

OK, this is slightly light hearted, but then again not really, because for some reason it's got into my head and I've been obsessing about it the last few days. To be fair I've not been out much over Christmas.

My exP: we dated for a couple of months, I called it a day, we remained friends. Lately I've been cooling on that front too as he's been dropping hints he thinks we're about to start up again Confused

Which is irrelevant, except for the fact that avoiding his texts/suggestions of 'popping round' has made me think about him/us more than usual, and I've remembered something I did register at the time we were having sex but not as strongly as I'm reregistering it now.

His pubic hair was kind of long, and kind of silky... Blush

We didn't have much sex (or good sex) and the lights were always off (his choice) so I didn't get a proper look, maybe I'd have freaked out more at the time but I can remember putting my hand there and thinking, "This is weird..."

Is it weird? Maybe I'm not very experienced but I've never encountered pubic hair that you could actually brush if you wanted. Isn't it usually short and frizzy?

There was other sexual stuff that contributed to us splitting (old thread somewhere about passionless silence/teenage-style humping) and that must have overridden the pubic hair thing. But I'm not exaggerating the length, it was flat and smooth, you could have wrapped it around your finger a few times I think.

And no, this debate I'm having with myself has no actual bearing on my life, past present or future. I'm just wondering really if anyone else has encountered this before and if they did/would feel a bit creeped out by it. Sorry. Blush

i have straight pubic hair.

why is it not normal and wierd?

Normanshormones · 31/12/2010 19:42

My ex had very silky pubes. And mine are like yours SugarMousePink, especially after they've been trimmed, quite spiky in fact.

I felt his were more ladylike and genteel than mine.

monkeyfacegrace · 31/12/2010 19:51

URGHHHH!! Mine get all shaved off, any pubes are eugh.
Cant bear them, wiry little buggers that c\use friction burns.

emmyloulou · 31/12/2010 19:51

Eww nooooo the only time I have ever seen this was on a woman, a friend of mine Blush

It's not like that! We had been to the gym and she is rather more.....showy than me, I hate showing my bits where as she will casually wrap the towel flashing the whole changing room and there she was, really long, dark, straigh pubes it was like she had a head down there!!! You couldn't help but see I still can't look at her now the imagine is burnt on my brain forever.

HangingbaublesofBethlehem · 31/12/2010 19:53

dh has such wirey pubes like a brillo pad. I've been known to get 'carpet' burns from them. Don't think I'd be too freaked by straight and silky, at least it wouldn't be like having a washing up scrubber next to your fanjo.

mummery, I now have the line "dick like cousin it" stuck in my head. Special.

emmyloulou · 31/12/2010 20:07

I don't like shaven men, I prefer it myself tho. It's not linked to porn or any of that but after my first c-section I found it "cleaner" and my scar healed better! SO it just kind of stayed.

He may have used conditioner, everybody is different not all pubes are wiry and strong enough to floss with.

LesAnimaux · 31/12/2010 21:39

DH conditions....and it's still kind of wiry.

Was (is) he Irish, as I've notice the Irish are particularly bad in bed.

Was he a Native American, as I've always imagined they had straight pubes.

Did he have curly hair on his head? (now that would be freaky!)

emmie31 · 31/12/2010 21:43

Right.... I've had wine so I'm now prepared to say, if my pubes get out of hand ( not veeted) Blush my pubes are straight and silky! I've got blonde hair and my ginger friend also has
the same... Is it it just the brown haired/black haired have the short and curlies?

beanlet · 31/12/2010 21:43

TMI but mine are straight and silky. I've only just been reminded as my belly has finally shrunk enough after the birth of DS for me to see over it so I can trim my lady garden again Grin

emmyloulou · 31/12/2010 21:46

Irish men are not bad in bed FACT Blush

LesAnimaux · 31/12/2010 21:48

I've just been unlucky, then. Blush

emmyloulou · 31/12/2010 21:51

I've had a few with Irish roots kind of why I swung for DH and his heritage shhhh Blush

LesAnimaux · 31/12/2010 21:54

In my defence, I was young, and so were they. Maybe they improve with age.

emmie31 · 31/12/2010 21:54

My DH Half irish .......Yum

LesAnimaux · 31/12/2010 21:55

Craig Doyle is Irish.

I bet he is lush in bed.

MrsCuldesac · 31/12/2010 21:56

Reminds me of an old joke:
DW: Eeeeew! Your pubes are all straggly and unkempt. Don't you trim yourself down there? I do.
DH: What? Do you do it when I'm asleep? Grin
