and then add to them, by purchasing a ridiculous amount of toys.

I don't see my parents often (keeps life a lot simpler that way Wink) but every time they come round, they walk into the playroom, and say 'I can't believe how many toys the children have'. Then every Christmas and Birthday, they buy a ridiculous number of toys. And as my kids are opening them say 'I don't know where you are going to put all that'.

No neither do I?!?!

Then next time they come round 'I can't believe how many toys the children have'.

"They do, don't they. Most of them are the ones you buy them."

I am never sure why people think it's any of their business.
We don't have a playroom for DS, so we keep his toys in the living room a lot of it stored and stacked nicely (no toys in bedroom) and someone said our house used to be lovely now it looks like a toy shop

Yes but it is still our house, and really we can have it how WE like it!

My parents haven't been to our house (and seen how many toys we have) since my mum came over for my twins' birth and they go on about how many toys they have. They got it from my bro and SIL when they were over - who when they went home, bought them toys! and sent Christmas presents from New Zealand! (and we are moving back in 3 weeks!)

Although I do agree, I am addicted to buying toys Blush

I like the line HHEC

I don't like it when the toys walk out of the playroom, and don't find their own way back.

It definitely feels like a dig.

Funny thing TIYS I don't buy toys (they don't need any Smile) and get told I'm terrible as their gifts are 'boring' like clothes, dvds, video games!!!

The phrase 'you can't win' seems very apt!
