To be upset with Toys R Us

I ordered my dd3 a highchair and ds a buzz lightyear on the 13th december,
ds's buzz lightyear arrived on th 16th, but no highchair.
I phoned up on the 21st to be told it hadn't been sent out. The woman i spoke to said it will be here by the 24th Hmm.
Was hoping dd3 could sit to the table with us and have dinner on christmas day, not a major deal she couldn't.
I phoned up today as it hadn't arrived to be told, they still haven't sent it out.
We are going away Friday and wanted to take it with us.
They are sending it out next Tuesday as if they send it out today it wont be here for Friday.
I just feel really upset and can't understand how you can forget to send out an item twice.

Can you not cancel the order and go and buy one in the sales somewhere else? That seems shit, especially when they told you it had been sent when it wasn't.

I would tell them not to bother tbh.

When you ordered them how long did they say the delivery would be? If they are withing the limit they said then YABU, however, if it is late then I would complain.

Ask if they have any in stock in a nearby store that you can pick up yourself perhaps?

Its annoying but vote with your feet and cancel the order. They dont deserve your custom. There are loads of places you could buy one, killing 2 birds with one stone - losing them business and sorting yourself out.

They have to cancel the order and refund you under distance selling regulations.

they did this to us years ago wiht a climbing frame (I may have ranted about it a few times on here already Wink) - it ended up withe them claiming they'd refunded me when they hadn't, I took them to court where they still refused to refund me, until Igot bailiffs sent in. I hate Toys R Us with a passion!

If you cancel the order, make sure you get the money back as their admin is rubbish.

I got told up to six working days for delivery so that was the 21st December.
I will be making a complaint and also will probably cancel my order.
When I have the energy to phone up and wait on hold again.
Just cant believe it can happen twice.

Are you near ikea? Go and get one of their basic high chairs, they are v v good and cheap
