A couple of months back there was a great thread from a lady about a weird couple who laughed like maniacs, served soup out of a tin etc and in return she served them pom bears (yes, very shortened version of whole story!)

Lady - if you are out there, tell us, what happened next? Did you see them again? Over Xmas?

Pom bears?

!!!!

Just checked Classics - it was SlightlyJaded. Update update update!

Reinitindear (great name btw) the orignal thread with return dinner is here - enjoy!!!! Xmas Grin

MrsColumbo · 28/12/2010 22:31

I was thinking about that thread the other dayBear It was a lady called Slightly Jaded, and I'm not surprised, either - there was a lot of rather snidey stuff written about the whole thing, which was a shame, as it obviously tickled her, and a lot of others - she got her own emoticon after all! I would love to have seen her host a party where she offered lion Bars and Um Bongo.

ILoveDolly · 28/12/2010 22:32

I would love that party

MsKLo · 28/12/2010 22:35

tinkertitonk · 28/12/2010 23:47

Damn I thought this was going to be a Gabby Loggon thread.

mylittlemonkey · 29/12/2010 00:37

Will be watching this post with great interest! Loved the last two posts!! We all need a good post xmas pick me up so another one would be great!

reinitindear · 29/12/2010 00:45

Or we could start a new one!
I am supposed to be entertaining my sisters family amongst other guests for NYE one of which is a fairly successful actor.Whenever we go to her house it is all professionally catered. So tempted to do baby sausages, prawn vol au vents despite of sisters pleas to do something "classy"

igetmorelovefromthecat · 29/12/2010 00:46

Lion bars, Um Bongo, extra long twiglets and jelly made in a rabbit mould. Bring on the retro party food.

reinitindear · 29/12/2010 00:49

Loving the rabbit jelly idea could seem ironic if sis asked. The seventies is the new whatever you call this decadeGrin

midori1999 · 29/12/2010 01:06

I didn't realise there had been a 'return' dinner party. I have just read the thread and am crying with laughter a the OP's DH asking 'Pombear anyone?' Grin

I didn't realise there was a Mumsnet Classic section either.

igetmorelovefromthecat · 29/12/2010 01:10

Good point. What is this decade called anyway?

reinitindear · 29/12/2010 01:14

I know getmore dd1 asks "when was I born?" I say the 90's. DD2 asks who knows?

igetmorelovefromthecat · 29/12/2010 01:17

The tennies? Doesn't sound right does it?

No that sounds like a period product. So any clever MN out there help us.
