to think this is the most trivial problem ever?

DH got a lava lamp for Christmas. (yes, I know). It came with a free lava lamp phone charm and I'm dying to see how it works, but my phone doesn't have the thing to attach the charm like my old one did (just to point out, I got it out of a cracker and only used the charm for a week or so). I have a nokia E51 - can anyone help?

Buy a new mobile?

No that's no good. I quite like the idea of a lava lamp phone charm.

RectalNourishment · 28/12/2010 17:05

develop a lava lamp app?

might see if there is such an app already

RectalNourishment · 28/12/2010 17:07

Thanks to you I have just spent 59p on a virtual lava lamp called Gloop.

thenightsky · 28/12/2010 17:07

I have a nokia and the hooky bit is very very tiny and is right in the middle at the top end.

JiltedJohnsJulie · 28/12/2010 17:08

Yes, it probably is the most trivial problem ever Stealth.

Think you need to put your charm with the bottle Grin

thenightsky · 28/12/2010 17:08

Oooh... there is a lava lamp app... I want that!! Grin

tethersjinglebellend · 28/12/2010 17:10

I don't understand what anyone is talking about.

I didn't have a problem until I read this thread.

IAmReallyFabNow · 28/12/2010 17:12

No, actually, I don't think it is the most trivial problem ever Grin.

RectalNourishment · 28/12/2010 17:15

There are LOADS of lava lamp apps!

ShowOfHands · 28/12/2010 17:17

I genuinely don't know what an app is. Something to do with iwhatsits.

StealthPolarBear · 28/12/2010 17:22

thenightsky, right under where it says nokia?
I'm expected to put this in there?

Apologies to any of you with real problems, like burnt mince pies - this thread must be very upsetting

stealth.... yes... its a tiny slot.. you have to wet your fingers and make the string pointy and push it through like it was a needle.

StealthPolarBear · 28/12/2010 17:34

but if you put the phone down on its back does it not crush the charm?? My old one dangled off the bottom

OP posts:
thenightsky · 28/12/2010 17:41

not much difference between dangling from the top as dangling from the bottom.

Not sure how a phone could be heavy enough to crush anything.... are you sure you are not mixing your phone up with a house brick.... or something? Grin

irishqueensspeech · 28/12/2010 17:45

im sure it is at the bottom right hand corner but not all of the nokias have them

StealthPolarBear · 28/12/2010 17:53

It's kind of on the back near the top but definitely on the back.
Maybe it;s not that
My old one was in the bottom corner
And yes, many of my phones have been bricks :)

Hassledge · 28/12/2010 17:58

Why do you want a charm hanging off your phone? Why? What purpose will it serve?

StealthPolarBear · 28/12/2010 18:00

I wanted to see wht it did when I got a text - I stood it on top - it flashes but the blobs inside don't move. Now my curiosity has been satisfied I don't really care :)

"stealth.... yes... its a tiny slot.. you have to wet your fingers and make the string pointy and push it through like it was a needle."

I think I need to wash my brain out - I'm thinking all sorts of rude euphanisms from that.........

StealthPolarBear · 28/12/2010 18:07

I was going to bring that up but then I decided it wuold be too rude :o

Trying to think of a more trivial problem.

OK: you got given two lava lamps and can't decide which one to take back?

TheHoneydragonsInTheIvy · 28/12/2010 18:39

I am going to have to disable my apple account now or I am going to waste £0.59 too, wanting to see what a lava lamp app looks like!

Stealth pm your addresss so I can send you the bill or shall I invoice you

C/O justine - mumsnet?

On account this is all your fault Grin

MorticiaAddams · 28/12/2010 20:19

Could you buy one of those rubbery protector thingies and attach it to that. Sorry don't know technical term but have seen them for phones and ipods.

Pixel · 28/12/2010 21:06

Someone bought dd a charm for her Nokia and I seem to remember we had to take the back cover off to be able to attach it. Was still very fiddly though.
