Course you shouldn't have. Stop worrying about it. You cannot possibly go to work if you are being sick. Stay in bed - and I hope you get well soon.

Scuttlebutter · 28/12/2010 01:14

When you are feeling better, you will be able to engage your brain, and realise what a mad idea that is. You work in the NHS, presumably with patients. You don't need to be medically trained to realise that non stop vomiting and patient care are, at the very least, incompatible. It will be dangerous for many of your patients to be exposed to a vomiting bug, and will cost the Health Service even more money when they get complications. Stay home and concentrate on getting better.

You should not have gone to work!

Why on earth would you BU for not going?

madonnawhore · 28/12/2010 01:34

YANBU! If I was your colleague and you turned up to work with a vomiting virus, I'd be so cross with you!

TechnoKitten · 28/12/2010 02:29

You should go back to work 48h after the last episode of vomiting, not before. Any occ health dept will have the same guidelines.

notinbed · 28/12/2010 02:47

Going to work would have been unreasonable!

FaffTastic · 28/12/2010 02:51

Am sure your colleagues will be glad/grateful if you don't go into work! Nobody would want to catch a vomiting bug off you, especialy if you work for the NHS.

Rest up, and go in when you feel better.
