To be annoyed that so many people bought me booze for Christmas?

My boss plus three close members of my family gave me bottles of wine for Christmas. I am six months pg Hmm AIBU to feel slightly miffed? Would chococlates have been such a stretch?

[Stares mournfully at six unopened bottles of plonk and looks around for something to eat.]

I got two bottles of bucks fizz (am 8m pg and will breastfeed too, so not like I can count on cracking them open next month) and my dad went on and on about how nice the Christmas lunch wine was on the day. On and on. To me. On and on. Harrrumphhhhhhh Xmas Sad

YANBU - a bit thoughtless - particularly when it's the thought that counts!
Can you take them to one of the big supermarkets and exchange them for mounds of chocs? Xmas Grin

Last year I was pregnant but only close family and friends knew so I couldn't drink the wine we were given.

This year I have gallstones so am having to eat as little fat as possible (no interesting food!) so a lot of people who don't know what to give us (DH's family and MIL's friends) have given us food I can't eat. MIL kept giggling and saying 'Poor JandT, she can't have any of it' whilst telling us she had told them about my 'diet'.

Will be checking the best before dates and hoping the surgery happens before they run out!

Still have last years wine waiting though that DH isn't allowed to eat as I too am BFing at the mo.

I have decided it's the thought that counts, not the gesture!

The bastards, send it me I'll take care of it for you Xmas Wink

It's quite thoughtless.

My PILs gave the kids thoughtful presents, my husband a shirt and socks and gave me a bottle of gin and some chocolates wrapped in an old box that they'd bought a light fitting in. All wrapped with parcel tape.

Twas pretty as a picture. Thanks.

I will take all that wine off your hands, NotAnother, to save you having to find somewhere to store it [gtin].

Grin even.
