To want to find NICE bedding for my DD?

ShanahansRevenge · 26/12/2010 17:50

I have been given a nice cot-bed for DD who is 2.9...I know she won't get a lot of use out of it but she's only small so maybe a year or more? Either way I want to get some really nice bedding...I looked for a decent little eiderdown type thing.. and a duvey cover that is NOT Peppa Pig or other character....she likes to feel weight on top of her and there's nothing! Nothin in M and S and nothing in Vertabudet...

Her duvet is a silk one...so although it's warm it's not too warm and I think she needs something heavy on top...WHERE are there some little quilted eiderdows for toddlers?

My older DD has a lovely one for her single bed which I got about 4 years ago in TKMaxx...nothing now...anyone recomend any online stores?

IKEA. they always have pretty faux quilted blankets and nursery bedding.
DD2's current duvet cover was from Aldi :) black and red with cherries and white polka dots!

Sazisi · 26/12/2010 18:08

Jojo maman bebe are good for that sort of thing. Or Ikea

Binfullofgibletsonthe45 · 26/12/2010 18:11

Laura Ashley?

I agree the White Company - they have good offers on sale times too.

Have to agree about character bedding ....hate it hate it hate it....always change the subject when ds brings up spiderman ones.....

I remember the hell of DP's shelling out on a load of unasked for Pierrot duvet sets for me and then saying they couldn't afford whole new sets a few years on - i was 18 fcs!!!!!

Thanks peeps...I don't lke the White Company...it''s all so pale...they're pretty for sure...I just prefer more colour.
Laura Ashley had ONE fleecy looking thing with hearts all over...a bit wishy washy.

I will look at the kind links now!

Whatswrongwithyou...that site has gorgeous things but I cannot pay 125 for a quilt...beautiful...but too much...why are these things SO dear?

They're only a couple of yards of cotton and some bloody batting! WHY can't I use a sewing machine!

I like lulu and nat

haggis01 · 26/12/2010 19:21

another vote for White Company could also try Cologne and Cotton - many years of use from their covers

MerryMarigold · 26/12/2010 19:27

This is quite cheap, but lovely. Seller has loads ebay

Sazisi · 26/12/2010 19:32

I havent worked out how to do a link with my iPad yet, but I saw jojomamanbebe do indeed have a lovely pink floral patchwork quilt reduced to £45 for th cotbed size.
I'm very tempted to buy a couple of them for my DD2&3 in the single size..

atswimtwolengths · 26/12/2010 19:41

Sazisi, that is a beautiful quilt, isn't it? I found myself almost forcing my 21 year old daughter into getting pregnant so that I could buy it!

It's here OP, if you want to see it.

autodidact · 26/12/2010 19:44

SR- you really must go to IKEA if you need reasonably priced, colourful bedding for children. Can't be beat.

ShanahansRevenge · 26/12/2010 19:51

I would LOVE to go to Ikea...but ours is 30 miles away and I can't drive and DH HATES it so much he would rather have a row than go there. Sad

:( That must be terrible! I sympathise a bit with IKEA hatred (my partner has it too) but we're on a budget too and nowhere else does stuff as nice for the price, imo.

ShanahansRevenge · 26/12/2010 19:56

Love that Lulu and Nat stuff...the JJMB one is more what will go with the decor atm and it's a very good price...thanks!

ShanahansRevenge · 26/12/2010 19:57

Yes..but Ikea only allow you to buy the furniture online...not the fabric and smaller things Sad

We have mainly ikea for dd (she is now 5) but I lust after Room Seven bedding - I am working on dh that it is an investment as an heirloom to hand on to dd. I just LOVE that look!

I also like Green Gate too for lovely fabrics. Cath Kidston does some nice colourful prints and can be reasonablein sales or outlets (we're lucky that my parents live near an outlet shop)

ShanahansRevenge · 26/12/2010 19:58
