she is in here thirties
she arrived on the 23rd, left on 26th.

On christmas eve we supplied sparkling wine, local beer, australian chardonnay and chilean sauvignon, tio pepe and some baileys

On christmas day we supplied champagne, organic ale, local cider, cloudy bay sauvignon, chataeuneuf du pape, fine cognac ...and more baileys.

she had, let's say, a fair share - and what did she bring with her, to contribute to christmas?

a small bottle of liqueur..
.. which she put in the fridge
... but never produced
... and which, on boxing day, she took home with her!

next year we're going away.

I will be happy to replace your sister next year, if you have CLoudy BAy.

curlymama · 26/12/2010 16:14

YANBU, invite yourself to hers for a drunken summer BBQ or something.

What's tio pepe?

SantasENormaSnob · 26/12/2010 16:52

Cheeky cow

did you not call her on it though?

swanandduck · 26/12/2010 16:54

YANBU. What a brazen, tight cow.

TrillianAstra · 26/12/2010 17:02

If she put it in the fridge then it's not for her to get it out, it' fair game for if anyone wants some.

chasingrainbows · 26/12/2010 17:11

My SIL did similar. I had 14 to cater for yesterday and everyone was making/bringing something & she was to be bringing some beers. She brought a bottle of wine, 4 cans ale & 6 bottles of a weird fruit cider. She ate my food, drank my booze & left taking the wine, cider and beers with her. Bloody rude.

awubble · 26/12/2010 17:29

All sisters are twunts to be fair.

Numberfour · 26/12/2010 19:01

stingy cow! I would definitely say something to her and not invite her over next year.
YANBU at all.

Firawla · 26/12/2010 19:02

how tight taking it back home, yanbu

HecTheHallsWithBoughsOfHolly · 26/12/2010 19:02

you have a mouth, don't you?

Tell her off.

HelenaCC · 26/12/2010 19:02

Ah I hear you, I myself have only just discovered that hosting Christmas costs a fortune in booze. Your sis is cheeky. Will you be asking her why she took it? Sounds like she is not easily shamed!

DurhamDurham · 26/12/2010 19:04

Sounds like a very liquid based Christmas...hope you all managed some food too!! Did she bring any other supplies with her (cheeses, nuts, cake)?

pranma · 26/12/2010 20:57

Tio Pepe is gorgeous very dry sherry which is served ice cold :)

ShanahansRevenge · 26/12/2010 21:02

Second what Durham said! Cannot imagine consuming such a varied amount of alcohol over three days!

atswimtwolengths · 26/12/2010 21:05

I don't think they were obliged to drink some of everything!

MarianneM · 26/12/2010 21:12

I hate it when people take back what they have brought! So tacky!
