BlitzenAndCupidsSleighDodger · 23/12/2010 20:12

To my lovely Nan who died on Christmas Day 6 years ago.

And my wonderful Grandad who died on Boxing day two years ago.

And MIL who died suddenly in April at the age of 56.

Merry Christmas to those who will be sorely missed x

Oh god, this has immediately brought tears to my eyes!

Well since I have a glass in my hand, I will raise it to my grandmother, who would have loved my children (and vice versa), and to my grandad, who would sit and hum when his wife (above grandmother) was trying to pick a fight. And another glass to my mother in law who died a couple of years ago - I wish I'd done more to make her happy. She didn't want that much really, but I acted as though she was asking for the world. :(

Ormirian · 23/12/2010 20:15

Cheers also to FIL (selfish old git but DH loved him). And my two grannies who died within a month of each other in `82. Mum's mum would not he happy about the raising a glass though - she joined the league of temperance at age 10 Grin And DH's gran and grandpa - East End diamonds the both of them.

Merry christmas!

I'm raising a glass to my FIL, who died 2 years ago from cancer. He was a great grandad to my sons, it is such a shame he never got to meet DS3.

Also to my nana who has been dead 14 years now, but never a week goes by I don't think of her.

curlymama · 23/12/2010 20:17

I will drink to all of the above, and my Dad, and my friends K, E, P and L.

Marne · 23/12/2010 20:18

also my lovely Aunt who died 8 years ago on x-mas day after fighting with cancer.

Merry x-mas

To my beautiful DD1.....still very much in our thoughts and missed more than I could ever say xx

VallhalaLalalalalalalalaaaaaa · 23/12/2010 20:27

Oh Blitzen... :( I'm so sorry. Nannys and Grandads are such special people.

Whilst my glass is raised for yours may I also drink to my own Nanny and Grandad, whom I lost at Christmastime and Eastertime, 17 and 7 years ago respectively.

As Nanny always used to say when she raised her own glass on Christmas Day...

"Well, here's to absent friends".

I miss them so much.

Val x

BlitzenAndCupidsSleighDodger · 23/12/2010 20:30

[clink] to everyones missed loved ones

lazarusinNazareth · 23/12/2010 20:39

To all the friends (3 of them under 35, two of them mothers to young children) and the family who have gone over the last few years. They have all left a hole which is patched over, but never repaired.
And my 2 little ones who were never to be. Xmas Sad

fairtradefloozy · 23/12/2010 20:42

A large one for my nana who died Dec 10th 17 years ago but who has influenced my life in many ways and still does.

To Skip who lost his battle with cancer just when we thought he was on the mend, and leaves a bereft R to pick up the pieces and try and carry on.

And many thoughts to my lovely friend G whose friend died in a head on car crash just two days ago. As you can imagine, thats taken the shine off a few things.

To all we have loved Xmas Sad

AxisofEvil · 23/12/2010 20:47
