To be pissed off with DH for getting through 6 loo rolls and 2 boxes of tissues in 24 hours with his manflu?

Both DCs have proper seasonal flu, and ear infections with antibiotics. I can't take them out in the cold to go shopping. DH has a cold. NOT flu. He has got through 6 loo rolls( from the xmas pack of 9 for a trillion visitors over the next 4 days) and all the tissues in the house in the last 30 hours. FFs. Can the man never blow twice on one tissue? Ok, I'm being unreasonable. But MAN I'm annoyed!

You are being unreasonable would you rather he blew his nose on your curtains? Nine rolls for guests and yourselves is not very many considering you have peoples in the house with colds.

belgo · 23/12/2010 19:16

YABU to have specially designated Christmas toilet paperXmas Grin

scottishmummy · 23/12/2010 19:20

and shame on you op for festive toilet paper

Ha ha. Have had exactly the same conversation here. He went through one whole box tissues last night - that's in about 4 hours Shock

nzshar · 23/12/2010 19:34

Oh please and if he had not blowed his nose and sniffed or wiped in on something inapproprate then you would have moaned too. Go and get some more toliet paper and tissues. There problem solved :)

AnnOnimous · 23/12/2010 19:46

YABU he would not have used them if he had not needed them.

howdidthishappenthen · 23/12/2010 19:47

Festive toilet paper Xmas Blush Nooooo, it's just an extra large pack of White Andrex for all the guests. Ok, I am being unreasonable. sigh. Still secretly amazed at such profligacy..

yanbu if he is anything like my dh.

he pulls off about a metre of bogroll, blows his nose in a tiny part of it and then bins it.

Mine has hit the kitchen roll, consider yourself lucky.

scottishmummy · 23/12/2010 19:58

festive loo paper is that wiping arse on rudolph?

Mowiol · 23/12/2010 22:48

He may have my DH's virus - which is doing the rounds - because normally my DH is raring to go and "do stuff", can't sit still for 5 minutes, has to be running around like a blue ar**d fly and he has just sort of "flopped" tonight.
Normally he'd be chopping logs, loading/unloading dishwashers, helping with pressie wrapping and the food shop etc. But he has coughed and sneezed all evening and just watched TV.
He went to bed early too.
Festive loo roll - LOL - do you normally use Izal Grin

greenbananas · 23/12/2010 22:52

Well, you could have washed a hundred handkerchiefs instead Xmas Grin

TurkeyMartini · 23/12/2010 22:56

DP has it too! He is ill a lot actually but normally won't allow it to 'stop' him. Tonight, though, totally flopped, ate no dinner. Cannot move from sofa.

YABU a bit OP, but you have my sympathies. Must you really host all those people if your family is so under the weather?

BeatRoute · 24/12/2010 13:29

YANBU! Why does he have to use so much? This would fuck me off as well and I AM ill currently. I have moved on to a pack of a thousand white IKEA napkins and am making the most of all the corners and expanse of middle before binning it.

YankNChristmasCrackers · 24/12/2010 13:50

YABU if he's got the same cold DH and I have. I am blowing my nose constantly and the volume of snot I'm producing is astounding. Where the hell is it all coming from?!

festivecoatgate · 24/12/2010 13:52

I'm with you Yank - I have a cold which for the first couple of days caused my nose to run and run and run and run - I haven't counted how many tissues I got through, but was thousands! It has now receded inside my head......

carabos · 24/12/2010 17:36

This isn't really about the tissues is it?

architien · 24/12/2010 18:13

Poor bloke must think he has some serious sinus issues, still I have similar conversations in this house about tissue and loo roll. I'd be tempted given it's Christmas and he's ill (albeit with what you believe to be a cold) to just let this slide and try to take staeps to encourage him to get better (get him to take lemsips, use olbus oil and take multi-vit containing vit D if appropriate).
I'd be feeling stressed in your position too facing doing all the work with everyone ill around you.
You've both got my sympathy.
Hope you manage to have a good Christmas regardless and try to let him see that you care (when we feel ill we can all get a tad useless and clingy).
I'd leave the deforestation of the planet due to tissue use to after Christmas.
