To be annoyed at having to exchange goods due to a shop's mistake

I rang a shop on Tuesday and asked for some gloves to be put aside in a certain size and that I would be along on Wednesday evening to pick up. Rushed over yesterday, they double checked size when I got there and I paid for them. No drama.

Came to wrap them today and thought they looked on the small side. Label on packaging says large, label inside says small. So now among the other things I've got to do I have to traipse across the city to exchange.

Am I being unreasonable to expect a little token of apology?

Yes, you are unreasonable to expect it,\but it would be nice. It was an honest mistake.

I think any other time of year it wouldn't bother me, it's just as they're a Christmas present I need to get them changed now. I'd leave it until after Christmas but they only have one pair left in the right size (which they'll hold for a day) and they're unsure whether they'll get more stock in.

Annoyed at myself to be honest, if I buy stuff on hangers I always check the size on the hanger matches the label but I thought these were attached by a tag to the packaging so unlikely to be any mixup.
