to think 1 letter from tax credit is enough

why do they always send out 2 letters, 1 adresssed to my DP and one for myself, saying the exact same thing

I agree if the address is the same (but then even so the partners may be estranged???)

I asked them that once - they said it was part of the act of parliament? I thought there should be an optout clause!

Its for fraud protection, if the claim is joint both parties get there own copy to ensure that each knows the figures supplied - then if the claim is wrong or fraudulent both parties can be chased for the debt.
