Ordered a set of Numberjacks skittles for dds birthday on Monday. When we opened them there were two number 1 skittles and no number 2 (but we did have nos 3,4,5 and 6). I e-mailed the seller (very politely) to ask if i could return it for a replacement, and they have e-mailed me back to say the box "is sold as a random selection"!!!!!
What's the sodding point of that?
And why doesn't it say that anywhere on the product description?
And why does it tell you all over the box about the games you can play with nos 1,2,3,4,5 and 6?
AND WHY WOULD ANYONE WANT TO BUY A BOX THAT COULD HAVE SIX NUMBERS THE SAME, WHY????

Are they from Ebay?

Yulephemia · 22/12/2010 11:51

That seems more than a little bonkers. Looking at the description online, it certainly makes it look like you get one of each. Who was the seller?

WelcomeToTheJungleGym · 22/12/2010 11:52

No i ordered them through Amazon but are from a different seller iyswim.

Can you say they are not fit for purpose and get a refund that way?

WelcomeToTheJungleGym · 22/12/2010 12:02

They told me i can return them and they will consider whether i am eligible for a refund, and order another set from amazon. But what is the point if that contains another "random", and yes, rather bonkers, selection?
I've e-mailed back saying that the product they have sent is not as advertised and could they please advise whether they are willing to replace it with one that is. If they won't then i'm just gonna have to...well i'll probably....
well i'm gonna leave them really abusive feedback and er, that's it really

I would go with the "not fit for purpose" angle. You could get all arsey and pedantic about it. Xmas Grin "Dear Amazon, as the objective of the Numberjacks is to improve numeracy in pre-schoolers, the non-sequential nature of the numerical characters received is not in keeping with this and will prohibit my DD from fulfilling her potential in this area." Xmas Grin

Excellent!
"Dear Amazon, I can hear my daughter forlornly counting one, one, three, four etc and i hold you entirely responsible"

They are talking rubbish. The only ones I could see on Amazon are sold by a company called DHM, is that them? If so, they are sold as a SET and there's no mention of random numbers.

TrillianAstra · 22/12/2010 12:27

My skittles only have 'S' on them, but I have a lot more than 6.

ShanahansRevenge · 22/12/2010 12:30

Since the NumberJacks are all individual characters they are being unreasonable.

It's like ordering Charlie and Lola toys and getting two Lola's!

WelcomeToTheJungleGym · 22/12/2010 12:34

Yeah it's DHM, i know it was just such a stupid response. I'm still waiting for them to reply to my second e-mail, unfortunately i got a bit arsey and told them as i'd already beaten odds of 46,000 to one by getting the skittles i had, then i didn't fancy my chances of getting the correct skittles as a "random selection"

Contact the manufacturers - I don't believe they are made as a 'random selection'

Yulephemia · 22/12/2010 12:45

"Random selection" all sounds a bit fell off the back of a lorry to me ...
