You poor thing.
I'd be wanting to be reclining on the sofa being brought cakes and drinks. I would not be contemplating housework (although I'd probably be lying there thinking about all the jobs that need doing).
YANBU.

Poor you, broke my ankle 2 weeks ago; can't bear weight on it for 8 more weeks & further operation & cast time after that.

Straight after I did it DH expected no more than for me to care for myself as much as possible. 2 weeks later I am assisting wherever I can but could no more do most things around the house than I could fly to the moon. DH is doing everything & is grateful when I do the stuff I can (I love my dh & no you can't have him).

Beamur is right you should be on the sofa with cake, drink & huge amounts of sympathy on tap.

You obviously don't listen to The Archers Grin

Of course you're not BU!! Good god woman, you've only got one working arm/hand. Just let your DH/P know what you can do and tell him (don't ask!) that you need him or someone else to do everything else. This way you are letting him know that you aren't expecting everyone to come at your beck and call and are willing to help where you can. He cannot find this unreasonable, surely??!!!

Yanbu! Men are so useless! I broke my arm a couple of years ago, really badly. My 8yo dd had to help me do everything. Do my bra up, get dressed, cook... Dp was shit. The one time I asked him to help me dress, he yanked my sleeve up my unplastered arm and made me cry! Six months I had off work, no plaster cast, frightened to move. I had to do everything myself or with DD. She was an angel.

Men are so useless

Xmas Hmm

Lazy people are so useless. Gender doesn't really come into it.
