OP posts:
BeenBeta · 21/12/2010 21:08

I am 47.

Have you all actually got DCs or are you bored teenagers winding up old geezers on the internet? Grin

Ormirian · 21/12/2010 21:10

1985? 1985!!

OMFG I feel old Sad

BeenBeta · 21/12/2010 21:12

Oh 1982 was wonderful. It really was. If you had lived through the 1970s it was magical.

You know how people who were children in the 1950s all talk about the 1960s? Well the 1980s were just the same for people who were children in the terrible 1970s.

LaWeaselMys · 21/12/2010 21:13

We need to know!!

(yes born in 87 have a toddler)

Sometimes when I'm out with my mum friends and they say "that reminds me so much of Orange is not the only fruit!" and I stare at them blankly.

BeenBeta · 21/12/2010 21:16

I started work in 1987. The future MrsBeta and I were young free and single in London. There was a hurricane and the stockmarket crashed.

anothernewname09 · 21/12/2010 21:16

I'm 23 and have a 16 month old.

I have also married, and am in the process of divorcing a millionaire!

It's true, you couldn't write this shit!

No wonder I'm board now......

JingleBelleDameSansMerci · 21/12/2010 21:16

I am 45.. 1981/1982 was a good Christmas but I let myself be persuaded not to get involved with someone. He was sexy as hell (as far as I understood the concept at that point).

It was actually Christmas 1981/New Year 1982. and I looked (a bit) like the girl with the dark hair.

Oh it was good (and I was only 16 Shock)

Maybe you should write it down!! You could make a fortune. Although I guess if you're divorcing a millionaire you may not need one? Smile

JingleBelleDameSansMerci · 21/12/2010 21:19

BeenBeta's right. The 80s were bloody brilliant...

LaWeaselMys · 21/12/2010 21:21

Is it wrong of me to say I hope you get a tasty settlement another? Something has to make up for divorced at 23 (which is pants obviously).

anothernewname09 · 21/12/2010 21:23

Funky you have made me laugh!!

Please ignore me ladies and gents. Just been a bit of a tough day.

(sulks in corner with the surly face of a teenager that has had a party crashed when in mid flow by parents)

BDSM - they were. Indeed, as it happens I'm listening to Joy Division on the TV right now.

Love will Tear Us Apart (1980).

JingleBelleDameSansMerci · 21/12/2010 21:29

BB my iPod salutes you... I love that song. My friends call my car "Belle's Retro Spaceship" because it's like going back in time (apparently). I hardly know anything released after 1990 Blush

BeenBeta · 21/12/2010 21:38

BDSM* - same here. Nothing post 1990 here either. DW was a huge Human League fan and was dressed very much in that style when I met her in my Burton suit. Grin

anothernewname - that does not sound good. Sorry for my crashing your thread. But you have your life ahead of you and I'm sure you will come through this just fine.

anothernewname09 · 21/12/2010 21:41

Totally pants LaWeasel. I hate the fact that people will go "ohh divorced at 23, blah blah blah". Never mind, will get over it.

Re settlement, process starts in January. My solicitor has already sent an informal letter to H outlineing what I'm entitled too, so hopefully the process will be swift.

And thanks for hoping for me..... Even if its a teeny bit wrong Wink!!
