I think they're funny! But then I am always annoying anglers when I get too close to the bank when sailing - I reckon they're all nuts anyway.

the programme was just on channel four, really the music was so over the top.

we stayed at a holiday park that had lakes last year and blokes were night fishing in camouflage - were they hiding from the fish??

I sail dinghys - all sorts, laser, buzz, etc.

The anglers are Sooooooo serious though with all their gear - and lines all over the place. Then they get all shouty when I have to sail over their line to avoid another boat racing... And then they just put the damned things back!

Really don't get it..

I'm with CapsizeQueen as I used to love doing that when I sailed too - mind you when DH is watching them I do get to read all the Mumsnet stuff without being nagged at so I guess they have their uses

I love a bit of Extreme Fishin' I do..

But fisher men are usually frightfully dull.. even if they are wearing SAS Army Surplus gear.

i know i can turn it over, it just makes me laugh at how tv is making fishing so rock and roll looking

can a fish tell that the fisherman is in dressed up in camo?

LOL, I worked with a fisherman one summer when I was a student, he used to read Angling Times.

I said 'What sort of news is there is a fishing newspaper anyway?' and he said 'Big fish caught.'
Was true, just pages and pages of variations on the same story.

he did, however, introduce me to the joys of maggot racing. Happy days.....
