YANBU. Why spend a fortune when you can get decent stuff on ebay?

pawsnclaws · 21/12/2010 16:37

My ds is wearing second hand trainers for PE at school - they had to be Green Flash which are £27 new, and a friend of a friend gave us them for nothing (though made a donation to cancer research instead). He hasn't died of some hideous foot fungus yet, so I'm sure it's fine!

they don't smell
hardly worn
last time I spend a fortune on new ones

The only reason DS's current trainers aren't second hand from eBay is because they are my second hand trainers Grin.

Love ebay, always buy my kids stuff from there, or charity shops. Not unreasonable at all.

If you feel vaguely uneasy, spend what you have saved on the trainers on a bottle of wine pizza.

yanbu I buy nearly everything on ebay. We don't live in a wealthy area so our charity shops are rubbish and ebay rocks.

DH views it as a defeat if he has to buy something that doesn't come from ebay.

We have had some fab good as new shoes/trainers off ebay (always with unworn soles) and some excellent advice off an ex shoe shop owner about how to check they fit properly.
