what kindof noise do you make - an elephant trumpeting, or more like a goose honking Grin

tallwivglasses · 21/12/2010 16:32

Ha ha, ILoveIt. Apparently I sound like a foghorn. I do explosive sneezes too. I've always envied people who put their finger under their noses and sound like a whispering chaffinch. The whole family find it amusing.

Perhaps we should start a double act?

ILoveItWhenYouCallMeBoo · 21/12/2010 16:33

no it's jsut a yucky bubbly blowy noise, nothing special but i think this is teh first time I've had a cold that he is old enough to notice em doing it!!

My dad sneezes so suddenly and explosively it seems to be a huge surprise for him as well as us.

ILoveItWhenYouCallMeBoo · 21/12/2010 17:06

same here nanny. my dad does these big exagerated movement aswell just to let us know how severe the sneeze was Hmm

The only truly satisfying way of sneezing involves the whole body doing a sort of speeded-up 'hokey-cokey' imo.

HobnobHeaven · 21/12/2010 20:02

'get me my agent' Grin we are only here to entertain, you know.

My 20m DS is just learning to use a cup instead of a beaker. He was sat in front of me on the floor last night when I sneezed so loudly he jumped out of his skin & covered his head in orange juice. He wasn't amused.

ILoveItWhenYouCallMeBoo · 21/12/2010 20:30

hobnob i am almost on teh floor laughing at that!!! Grin i can just imagine either of my dcs doing the same!!!

I confess to being the type of sneezer who has a huge explosive single body shaking effort. Did this at work once and my computer chair bounced backwards and hit the wall.....Xmas Grin

TwilaAndTinsel · 21/12/2010 22:17

Poor you OP.

This cold that is doing the rounds is horrible - I have had it for two weeks now.

I blew my nose so hard the other day that it took an emergency pelvic floor adjustment to stop a minor accident.

ILoveItWhenYouCallMeBoo · 21/12/2010 22:18

Grin at both darts and twila!!

it really is a nasty cold. my head is throbbing and my nose is so so sore.

My dad was an explosive sneezer, he used to stand at the top of the stairs to sneeze - for added echo - and my mum would always say 'oh for God's sake Alan' Grin

ILoveItWhenYouCallMeBoo · 21/12/2010 22:24

my mum says that too!!!! except she doesn't call him alan, cause that isn't his anme Grin

I have the nasty cold too, I don't have small DCs to laugh at me as I honk into hankies, but it does scare the shit out of the cats everytime I do another giant sneeze... ahh revenge for the kitty-destruction of my beautiful Christmas tree Grin
