Well, I would take them and collect them.

They are 11 and a bit (in Y7, goes to and from school on buses with friends, shopping locally and is fine in the house on own for an hour or so) and 9 3/4 (goes to shops for me, occasionally left on own for half an hour or so in house) and vey sensible, usually.

I sooo can't face 2 1/2 hours of Harry b*** Potter.

Narnia is a PG - would they be allowed in to see that on their own?

yes it is 12a so you will have to go with him if he really wants to see it.

biglips · 20/12/2010 20:26

pg rating - you will have to go in the cinema and speak to the staff to tell them that you agreed for your ds to see Narnia.....may have to check with your ds's friend parents if they agree too but cant see any violence in it.

i do hope that is right...

panettoinydog · 20/12/2010 20:33

If it's a pg they can go in on their own, no probs

BigTillyMincepie · 20/12/2010 20:34

Thanks biglips

Looks like I'll be having an expensive snooze for a couple of hours then Smile

just take them to the cinema, you wait outside and see what happens

panettoinydog · 20/12/2010 20:37

my dds went to teh cinema with their pals before they turned 12. They got the bus and went to the cinema, no questions asked. As long as it was a U or PG.

I asked if I could send in a mix of 11 and 12 yr olds to a 12 and was told no.

panettoinydog · 20/12/2010 20:38

They did it many times. And my kids obey authority - they wouldn't have done it if not allowed Wink

BigTillyMincepie · 20/12/2010 20:41

Panettone that's great! Maybe I can get in a couple of hours faffing round the shops....

Mine are like that too - they hate breaking rules outside of the home Wink

If it would have been permissible I would say dropping them off and collecting them is fine providing it is a film that starts before 6.

BigTillyMincepie · 20/12/2010 20:44

It will be the earliest show - early afternoon. And I would go into the cinema with them!
