AIBU to want to stay at home getting ready for christmas

Is it unreasonable to want to stay at home and potter about tidying up, being with the teenagers, get ready for Christmas and ahead of schedule a bit before next week, put the tree up, get the guest room ready, put some decs up in the dining room, etc., instead of going to lunchtime drinks in about 20 minutes, a commitment early evening and another drinks party again tonight. Cried off one last night because of the weather.

stop showing off you've got a social life

YANBU. If you've accepted then you'll have to try to go, but ideally parties would be a bit earlier. We haven't all got everything done by October! Pottering around at home sounds great :)

YADNBU say the weather is to risky or something.
I have 8 extra snow bound guests and there s no way they can get to where they need to be today, I have had to cook the Christmas beef and we are working our way through the wine.
I need to finish the house and do some shopping Sad
Enjoy your day, it is nearly Christmas do what you want to do.

Agree with ssd - you are just showing off how popular you are. I am sat here with an horrendous cold, a nose like Rudolph and my mucking out clothes still on, feeling thoroughly sorry for myself. Go and enjoy yourself on my behalf.

Festive Xmas Sad Have a hot punch or some mulled wine I promise it will help. Get well soon

Sorry - didn't mean to offend anyone.

I wan to stay at home and potter about getting ready for Christmas all of this week. But obviously I have to go to work.

Drinks parties are an important part of getting ready for Christmas, they are getting you in the right frame of mind. Xmas Smile

I agree Trillian. Sure I wouldn't mind if I didn't have to work next week either.

Oh well, off I go. Will elegantly tramp up the hill in my walking boots carrying my high heels Grin

i have made a dal to work from home the next two weeks, popping into the office to ick up things. YANBU, but i think you should go out and enjoy yourself. Have a mix of both.

Been back for half and hour. Had a lovely time, seen people I haven't seen for ages! Had four glasses of champagne and just made a pot of coffee to sober up for the next one, esp have to sing at carol servie first! Will have to walk the mile and a half to church and hope someone will give me a lift home Grin. House is a bloody mess though.
