AIBU to think that Sky are a shower of shites?

According to Sky I am. Order a new HD box on the 13th Dec so we could have it in time for Christmas, no confirmation email but I have an order number and an estimated delivery date which was today from the 'Confirmation' page.

Called on 16th as I still hadn't had an email and was told that it would definitely be coming today and a problem in their call centre meant their online tracking hadn't been updated.

Today I am a bit twitch as there are still no tracking details so I ring again to be told that my order hadn't gone through Hmm and it had to be ordered again. Apparently they can't even put an order number into their system to track it so the guy has no idea what happened to my order. One hour later I finally get a new order placed as the person I first spoke to couldn't place a new order and thankfully its coming on Weds.

AIBU to think that if my order was cancelled then Sky should have told me? AIBU to think that an order number and an estimated delivery date should mean that your order has been accepted and that you'll get your order around that date?

YANBU Sky are a shower of c**ts and have no recognisable semblance of customer service.

The whole customer service staff should be replaced by a big "Computer says no" machine.

ant3nna · 18/12/2010 17:33

They may as well do that, its all the call centre staff tell you - 'Well I can only tell you whats on the computer and it says there is no order on your account'. You really can't blame the staff though, I bet they're fed up with being utterly useless as well.

Yep, they are a complete shower of shites! We have been without TV for 4 weeks. Only just fixed yesterday and it only took him 4 bloody mins. At least after lots of moaning they moved engineer forward.....they were originally coming on Christmas eve, which would have left me with no TV for 5 weeks. I have been raging!
Grin "at computer says no" machine

TheYuleLogLady · 18/12/2010 17:44

they are also robbing fuckers who don't pay out their promised vouchers when you recommend a friend too

and if you keep cancelling your sky service they will give you free stuff to keep your custom but if you have been loyally paying out £££££ monthly for 5 years they don't give a shite.

WHERE ARE MY M&S VOUCHERS SKY???????

Zorayda · 18/12/2010 17:56

YADNBU. My phone only makes outgoing calls, and this has been the case for months. Every time I call them to try to sort it out it takes about two hours of them calling me a liar. Despite the fact they ring the phone and get a disconnected tone. And they're saying they now own the phoneline, so we can't get internet with anyone else if we leave them. The last time I was trying to sort this out I ended up googling their address to figure out how long it would take me to drive to their laughably titled customer service centre in Scotland and squat there until something was done to fix the issue. Swine.

Sorry - bit of a rant!

ant3nna · 18/12/2010 18:01

All these anti-Sky rants have cheered me up. Why is it so hard for them to treat their customers with a bit of respect?

They can't be worse than the c*nts at TalkTalk.

Now that is definitely another thread....

littlenuttree · 18/12/2010 19:01

Ooh, I'll have a rant too! Our Sky stopped working properly the week that the snow started - obviously it was going to when we couldn't escape the house for days on end! - and when I called them to report the fault, there was a recorded message saying that due to the severe weather, there were no staff to answer calls so I should try another time! Then the message ended and the line clicked off. Funnily enough, the sales team were managing to answer calls Hmm (Although they weren't any bloody use, obviously!)

They were finally answering calls 5 days later!!
